So is this forum now just for AFib? Do other arrhythmia have separate forums? ( Atrial Flutter,SVT and so on?)

Odd choice to me,but happy it's still available in some form!

Not sure that it won’t be more confusing for new members myself, particularly if, as can be the case, they have more than one type of arrhythmia going on but what do I know🤷‍♀️

Hiya 3cats

My cat is asleep, she is a nocturnal hunter killer. So at this time of day not even food awakens her.

Actually I let my mind wander along similar lines ... in a way. So if we were previously enrolled in the AFA forum ..... are we automatically transferred to the others ... or do we have to re - enrol ourselves in the others (depending on our individual interests ). Like an Opt In/Opt Out course of action.

Hi John

How’s life down in the pointy end of Cornwall? I hope your cat hasn’t made any more attempts on your life! My lot are all still asleep, as they have been for most of the day. Happily, only one - the wild child as I call her because she’s semi-feral - goes hunting at night. The other two aren’t into that sort of thing, although they’re not adverse to chasing anything the wild one brings in that has the misfortune to still be alive! Lovely things, cats🙄😂

In answer to your question, it appears that we have been automatically enrolled onto the AF support forum but will have to manually join the others if we wish, on, as you say , an opt in/opt out arrangement.

Hi, we have not been enrolled in any forums. All those forums existed before and the names of them have been changed / updated, that’s all. We’re all still in the same forum and can carry on as before. If you want to join other forums you can from the My hub button above but you also could before the changes under their old names. The forums are called communities on the system.

Hope this helps, best wishes

Hi TC, and a special Hi to The Wild Child ........ love it ! Perfect description. No more attempts on my life 😂😂😂 ......... yet - mind you I'm still suffering the after effects of the last attempt which ended up being diagnosed as a torn rotator cuff tendon. Getting the NHS to provide any sort of NHS after care service is quite another issue.

Christmas 2022 saw our Hunter Killer bring in something in her mouth. I was too slow !! Turned out to be a little live bird. Dotty dropped her guard and the little bird flew around the lounge ... until it saw the Christmas tree. Where it disappeared. What a performance that was ............. in the end we opened a nearby window and eventually the little bird got the message and flew away. I'll leave the story of the live mouse for another day !!! 😂 Grrrr !

Thanks for clarifying all that forum business .... doesn't do anything for me as I have no interest in the other matters anyway, always useful to know.

The pointy end of Cornwall is a total disaster, wet and cold and windy .... but the road works on the A30 around Truro being conducted by National Highways will be a challenge to tourists at Easter and beyond.

I’m sorry to hear about your rotator cuff injury, that sounds very painful! As for live animals being brought in, don’t get me started🙄 A frog featured at one time. The poor thing was lying on its back spread-eagled. It was only playing dead, though, as I discovered. Chasing a frog round the place early on a Sunday morning is an unusual pastime. I swear that blooming cat, watching me from the other side of the glass door, was laughing!

Hope the weather improves soon! Great timing on the roadworks 🙄

Hard to answer since there seems to have been some commonality between the old forums. Atrial flutter seems to be mentioned frequently here.

At present there are many more posts about SVT here than on the old subdivisions of the former Arrythmia Alliance combined. I imagine that will change over time and it seems sensible to continue to dedicate a separate forum for SVT.

how do I find the forum for SVT please?

That is now Supraventricular Tachycardia Support

There’s a useful link about this (in Threecats reply yesterday) to TracyAdmin’s post on the change in titles of the forums

Click on My hub, find a community and type SVT in the search bar and then Join the forum.

Or click this link

Thank you - yes I managed to get on to the forum, but agree that as yet, not too much by way of posts. Appreciate your help.

Hi

We Afers help lots of added on diagnosis and of course it might be that AF might come and go with heart flutters, palpations, pain etc often leads to persistent AF.

Those who are not interested in a different but connected diagnosis should simply scroll down to another post.

I joined the Thyroid Forum but got out of there quickly as my experience wasn't enough to give advice. I had a stroke with Rapid and Persistent AF Heart Rate and 4 days later diagnosed with cancer from a Carotid Arteries Scan. Yes I had 3 diagnosis Stroke, AF and Thyroidectomy (a lifetime montoring and taking replacement thyroxine for life).

Thyroid problems can cause AF which as you know cause a stroke. In some lists it is concluded.

So yes, this forum is open to everyone. Even to those who care for a relative who suffers like we do.

Didn’t even notice this one though I thought the header had changed recently. I’m surprised to see I’m in 2 communities - I thought previously I was just in one. As long as the contributions and support remain the same - I’m good with it.

It's a less-than-well-considered move in my view. AF, palpitations, ectopics, PVCs, PACs, AFl, SVT... ... ... whatever. The symptoms, fears, needs and treatments are broadly similar.

I get you. You are right. Thanks. I still can't see the need for a separate AF / Afib forum (i.e. from an arrhythmia forum). I found my way here in 2019 having suffered atrial flutter, for example, even though it did "morph" into AF. I shall have to take a look at the other forum as I didn't even know it existed.

I think you’ll find that most of the posts on there are from admin and are duplicates of what they put on the AF forum.

When members post on there, they are often advised by other members to repost on AF forum for a better response.

You can be in both so you don’t miss anything and you will see the admin news posts twice.
