I am not good on computers so this new design is going to take some getting used to. I really hate change for change's sake.
I like to know how many responses there have been so I only need to read new ones. In addition to the recommend box I would appreciate a "like" box which could also serve to acknowledge a post.

I wasn't unhappy with the old system but have no objections to what I have seen of the new one so far.
Good idea to remove the distinction between posts and questions.
I don't particularly want a "like" function - looks like a popularity contest and I never follow the contributions of any particular individuals. Nor am I interested in how many people read a particular post or how many posts one person has made. It is sometimes difficult to keep track during a long bit fast-moving thread when people reply to a specific point part way through the thread. Putting the time of the reply on is helpful.
One thing I would appreciate knowing is the country of residence of contributors. Although medical conditions know no boundaries, health systems are very different throughout the world and may offer different treatments or procedures.
I find the recommendations useful.
+1 for the like button. I use another forum that has one and it's great. Sometimes when you post, you do not know how well your comments went down which can hold you back, but a few likes simply tells you just that, it was liked, and gives you confidence.
I accepted the new layout on my iPhone, but even though I'm using the same login, my computer version is the old one!!!
Thanks for your reply. The new layout came up on my IPad . Sometimes I have had replies and rather than having to say 'thank you' I have thought that a like box would be useful. At least it would be proof that you'd seen the post.
When I joined I was not sure what the recommend button was for and I'm still not .....perhaps a 'seen' button to say the answer has been read? Some people are very polite and thank you but otherwise you have no idea whether your effort was even read.

It's because they put a cookie on your phone Koll. If you want the new layout on your computer just go back to the email and accept it again - hopefully that will work

Thanks Lis, just done it and it works on my computer as well now. Koll
The new layout seems to be change for changes sake. On the old layout, there just needed to be a Like button.
It would also be good to get updates on just those topics you've commented on, not just when someone replies to you. The program appears quite buggy and frequently crashes, particularly when using ctrl + click.
We're supposed to give feedback, but how to do this is not obvious. Is that the green lightbulb on the lower right?
Thanks Mark. I couln't fathom the feedback either which is why I posted. I pressed all sorts on the IPad and nothing responded. My sons think I'm technically incompetent. It's a generation thing!
I wanted to send feedback on the same thing but when I pressed the green bubble I was not sure what to do so I sent a message and got a reply 'Have you read our our article on support at HU.com?' What?
OK so I went to the Help page and now I know that the recommend button is 'To show your appreciation of someone's great contribution to the discussion'.
Thanks Buffafly. So recommend is instead of like. I think I prefer this as you can be appreciative without agreeing. The recommend that I was referring to was a recommendation for further reading, which has now been replaced by read next. I am having a technical issue using this reply function on the iPad as the cursor is appearing a line above where it should be.
So I have added a lot of 'recommends' to this thread! No offence to anyone who did not get one Perhaps only the person who posted in the first place should get the recommend button? But an acknowledge button seems essential whether you call it 'like' or something else.
I think 'recommend' is a good idea because if someone has said something that's really important or worthwhile you can bookmark it that way. I like the new layout, I like the fact you can get back to posts without going all round the houses. It's a very clean look, and I'm getting quite fond of it
I think the heading takes up too much space. I've just blocked it as though it was an advert and it's much better, you can see all the posts more easily.
Just noticed there's no edit button, so now my spelling mistakes will remain in place. Would really like an edit button.
Jeanjeannie, yesterday 6/6/14, Health Unlocked asked me to review the new layout. I thought it was just a proposal but when I clicked onto it everything changed from the old layout and it seems that I am stuck with the new one.
Mamacass, please see my reply to Jeanjeannie above. I couldn't fathom how to respond to them so I posted instead. There's a green lightbulb at the bottom right of my IPad screen right now which is a direct line back to them for suggestions.
I do hope that your recovery is going well. With my ablation scheduled for August I am agog for progress reports. Thank you for yours.
Lucky you, I look forward to the roll out. Good luck for August x
I take it all back! You can edit and delete posts, just click on the little arrow (if you can see the new layout) and you get the options. Now no excuse for bad spelling.
