Has anyone on the forum had a Pulsed Field Ablation? Would be interesting to hear how it went and what the outcome was.

This is the article I came across - it's quite technical and detailed but sounds like an interesting development.

All the best

I’m being considered for a clinical trial using pulsed field ablation. It begins in August. I’m excited!

Good morning. That's great news. I look forward to hearing how it all goes and wish all the very best. Do you mind me asking where?

Just had 3-month follow up after pulse field ablation. All tests were great. I’ve been off Flecanide & Diltiazem for a month. Just a rare flutter or ectopic for a few seconds. So far I couldn’t be happier!

Good news 👍 glad it’s going well for you. Can you have a pulse field ablation after an cryo? How does its work exactly? Completely non intrusive? I’m intrigued

Pulse field ablation is just the newest method of ablation. You can certainly have it after having any of the other two forms. It uses catheters through the femoral vein in the groin…faster, safer, more effective.

Oh right I thought the pulse field ablation was non intrusive? How does it differ from a cryo ablation then if they still use the vein in the groin?

This might explain how it differs from cryo ablation and RF ablation.

Thank you that's good to know. Where did you have it done?

I’m in the clinical trial so don’t know if I should say until trial is over. You might try major medical centers but think trial might be closed. Let me know.

Ok that makes sense. I didn't think that technology was available here yet. Please keep us updated on your progress which I hope will be all positive.

Just been having a look and the first procedure was carried out late last year in Uk in Leicester 👍

Actually what I read was involving this procedure … QDOT MICRO® from Biosense Webster. Not sure it’s the same thing? Just says that it cuts ablation time down to an hour
