hi - I take Edoxaban for intermittent episodes of AF. Has anybody had Botox and filler for cosmetic reasons when taking blood thinner.?

Thank you

I would be surprised at any technician who would perform this for you having A/F and on any anticoagulants, in fact if I was you I would stay away from anyone who would!

From a quick look at the literature, some surgeons will ask you to withhold thinners for a few days and some won't. Seem like the only downside with staying on thinners is the potential for more post operative bruising. This would really be a question to address to the cosmetic surgeon as I'm sure they been in this situation many times. And if the surgeon you want asks you to withhold thinners, either get an ok from your ep, or find a surgeon who will do it while you're on thinners.

I am in California

my EP is at Stanford.

My dermatologist is a doctor.

Both of them agreed that Botox is fine while I’m on Eliquis

I have done this for a number of years with no ill effects

except I have less wrinkles.

Hi AnneRB

Thank you for your reply. That’s good to know . Do you get much bruising & do you take your anticoagulant as usual ? I am really hoping my diagnose won’t change my life too much 😳 but must admit it’s all a bit of a shock

Best wishes

Also I work as a psychotherapist on zoom with lots of face close-ups and bright light. Gives me the confidence to be seen that intensely and lets me be a my normal slightly vain self :)))

zero bruising (though I have bruised much easier on anticoagulant in general )
