Thank you Tracy. I can't find any mention of my problem. I thought that after having now 26 DCCVs I would have come across this! I'll be on to cardiology in the morning

Are you back in NSR? Did you just have the CV? What kind of sedation did you have? etheral

I had propofol and midazolam . I had the dccv in theatre ante room at midday yesterday. Had been in AF, Aflutter & sinus tachycardia , mainly AF up to 160 bpm for previous 5+ days. Converted back to NSR and still in it. This breathlessness is very concerning . I will phone cardiology in the morning.

Doesn't sound normal. I would contact whoever did the cardioversion right away for instructions and if in real distress go to the A&E.

Thank you Jim. I will contact cardiology in the morning unless I worsen overnight. I fear pulmonary oedema.

I have read of cardioversion causing pulmonary oedema in extremely rare cases. I hope things have improved for you overnight but think a trip to A&E is called for if they haven’t.

Hi Jalia. Yes, I did have this happen a couple of years ago and had taken myself to A&E the next day. They did an x-ray and told me I had a chest infection and gave me antibiotics. My discharge notes said there was a "consolidation". I always thought it was it was too much of a coincidence.

Hope you're feeling better or getting it sorted.

Thank you all. Starting to feel better after losing 7lbs of the fluid put on overnight following the cardioversion! Spoke to arrhythmia nurse who has advised me to continue diuretics and is checking back. Still rather breathless but taking it easy.

Have at last got appt with EP for next month when I assume pace/ablate will be discussed. Having now had 26 dccvs I've had enough .
