On this occasion I drew attention to the post and suggested that this would not be a helpful link as it did NOT give relevant health information as the title suggested might as it was a link to a far right political organisation.

I did not ‘report’ it but consulted with other experienced members who have a direct link to admin.

Most members will know my views on censorship and restrictions of posting links but on this occasion I thought that admin needed to be alerted and obviously they made their decision that the link was not helpful and removed the post. I support them 100% on this particular deletion - and yes I DID read the content and researched the organisation to which we were signposted. It was 100% political which is 100% against the rules.

Thanks for the explanation — appreciated. Not sure the Epoch Times — the root source — is any more 100% political than, say, the Daily Express, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, or Spectator, but the intermediary source clearly is!

I think we need to distinguish between root source links and 3rd party political postings. I’m very interested in debating the issue of harm vaccines can cause as well and think we should be free to post direct links but equally also to lean on Admin when we have concerns about links to political organisations.

I've had 6 COVID jabs.

My 84 yr MS girlfriend died 3 sweeks ago after fall with factured ribs and coccyx, then COVID tested positive and neg. But less than a week later she passed.

I had arm in sling post rotor cuff operation 30 October 2023, so rung her every day.

The days after COVID she said so tired. She had AF, heart murmur, valve replacement and the MS so not walking. But scooted around her village, went pics and our Kerikeri Turner's centre. I took her out too with her walker for exchange.

** She missed her 5th jAb back in May/June. She had been in her village house for 18 months and went visiting others there.

She is at rest but I wonder whether she was biosyed in hospital post death.

For me I am notified of new jabs. I've not had any problems but I reckon have an antibiotic prior and after the procedure with Drs agreement if you are anxious. I have for dentistry.

It’s NOT about the subject matter, I completely agree about the unexplained excess deaths, the underreported dangers of the vaccine and the lack of evidence that the vaccines were effective. As I explained it was the link to a US based but international political media website with very dubious associations.

At least in the UK there has been a parliamentary debate about excess deaths - to which I added my name to a petition to demand a debate - and it is now reported in the main stream media.

By the way - there is a global phenomena with excess deaths and the scandal is that there is NO investigation or research as to the reason so of course there are those who will make political capitol out of those situations.

It was deleted because someone(s) reported it. Actually a relatively civil, informative and I think important discussion on one of those "hot" topics.

For those not familiar, both myocarditis and pericarditis have been associated with the Covid vaccine -- per CDC and other reputable sources -- but it's a fairly rare occurrence and mostly in males 17 and under and if it does happen, it usually resolves quickly, however not always. So yes, something we should know and be aware about and contact our doctor if symptoms present should we take the vaccine.

All said, my take is that the risk of that happening is far outweighed by the reward of being protected from a serious case of Covid and I personally plan on continuing to be vaccinated.

I acknowledge that some posts should be reported and deleted, but here I think the group as a whole ended up more at a loss than a gain, by cutting off the relatively civil discussion.

Sometimes the best way to deal with a somewhat misleading article is to delete it, but other times it's better to let it stay up for rebuttal. At times, stiffing discussion does more to fan the flame of misinformation than allowing the discussion -- which I think was the case here, but once reported, I understand why the Administration had to do what they did.

The originator, TonyB1972, is a regular poster on the British Heart Foundation (BHF) forum who has many posts with controversial topics. You may google his username.

Regardless, the post was on a subject that should have been in the BHF Forum and not the AF Forum. The vast majority of posters here have far more concerns about afib than whether the CDC forwarded a report on myocarditis in 2021. Additionally, the subject received vast media coverage.

And in fact, the CDC did report it. Forum rules don't permit links, but go to the American Academy of Pediatrics website and google the subject.

I wasn’t disputing the appropriateness of content but the link to a political organisation. I know a fair bit about the subject matter and have been doing a lot of reading about it from UK sources but I have no interest in what happens in US politics.

I think posts about myocarditis are quite appropriate for AF forum as well as the BHF forum - who are usually MUCH stricter than AFA forum about what content remains and what doesn’t.

It was deleted yesterday. One of the commenters said she had reported it as the guy had not said yes or no when she asked him if he'd got permission. Tracie, the CEO then put out a post yesterday as per the admin one today.

The poster needed permission to post the link. Based on the title of the article, not sure if the information will be correct. The CDC did alert (at least here in the US) of the RARE occurrence of myocarditis in younger male patients receiving Covid vaccines from Pfizer, I believe. The CDC is STILL monitoring this rare, but reversible side effect.

It's somewhat off topic, so I guess that's why it was deleted, but the truth if it is yes the CDC did discuss sending out a health alert notice but didn't as the headline says, but guess what instead they sent out a different kind of document in more detail about the subject.

As an American, I am sorry to say that every issue here has become politicized, and many medical reports and studies, whether from the CDC, large pharmaceutical companies or CNN, or from Fox News or other right-wing media, are shaded by an agenda and a political position.

Anyone who questions any vaccine is labeled and condemned as a right-wing nut by the left, while those recommending and supporting vaccines are accused by the right of promoting harmful products for profit. I try to discuss the issue and other medical decisions with a trusted doctor and then make my own decision. A doctor has a responsibility to inform us of best practices with regard to vaccines, meds and other treatments, but I reserve the right to make up my mind from listening, reading, observing and using a tablespoon of common sense.

Of course, it is important to know the integrity and reliability of the source of our information. That was apparently in question with the deleted article. That must be a sometimes difficult call to make for editors. I hope they would not make politically based decisions, themselves. Politics can quickly erode the positive, mutually supportive ideals of forums such as these.

This response is not meant to take a side with regard to vaccines or promote any agenda other than the belief that we should study and think about all significant medical treatments and have frank discussions with our doctors. I try not work with doctors who are unwilling to engage in that discourse. I know some of us are not in a position to be so choosey!

Well said. I have to say I am concerned about most censorship including vaccine harm on this Forum, which is very relevant to those susceptible to AF.

My main concern is are the censors knowledgeable enough to take a position due to the influence of unreliable researched and publicised data. I would not pretend to know enough nor would I wish to take on the responsibility of assuming I know what's best for members.

So can we please relieve the burden/responsibilities of the censors, have more freedom of speech and accept that the vast majority of members can make their own mind up as we have to do every day off-line. Of course there is a minority who need protection but from whom those that post or the censors??

It looks like it was a link to an old news article (2021) that has been superseded by more recent information concerning the risks associated with covid-19 infection and vaccination.

The latest knowledge is obtainable easily online, although much remans experimental. In that sense, it seems likely this was a contentious rather than informative post.

When I had my second jab (Moderna I think) I was told about the myocarditis possibility and told it generally happened to ‘fit young men’ as discovered when US troops were vaccinated, so well known. However my much older friend developed it but recovered ok.

I wondered as well, so I am glad you asked, emv54. Discussions like this are helpful, especially when they are respectful and honest.

We with AF have a dilemma. Heart problems have been linked consistently to adverse effects from the injections. But it is a touchy subject. I would like to shout - thank you to this forum for allowing a measure of freedom to discuss it. We are right in the crosshairs of this controversy.

Another dilemma. The pandemic has has rendered it impossible to separate politics from medicine. This is really harmful to us as patients. True science has always been open to scrutiny, and that is how it has advanced. We the patients are the benefactors when politicians leave science to scientists.

Still another. Our information is already filtered through media sources and it has become increasingly difficult to find both sides to an issue. So I hope this forum can continue to be as unfiltered as possible and will again allow links to articles. I want to be able to make my own decision as to whether something is worthwhile or not.

Let's continue to make every effort to be open and respectful in our conversations when issues are contentious. We will be better off. We are being warned of more viruses to come (e.g., "Disease X") - and more vaccines - so our challenges will continue.

Whilst I appreciate the demographic of the people here, I do sometimes sense a ‘shrug’ that vaccine induced myocarditis primarily affects 17 year old males. Maybe that is because I had a 17 year old son when the vaccines rolled out labelled ‘safe & effective’. The idea that myocarditis is mild and reversible is true in some cases but not all. For the avoidance of doubt, and in the absence of copying a link, I paste this from myocarditisfoundation,org.
