I was diagnosed with Paroxysmal after a year of episodes getting longer and longer .

I had a cardio version Sept then a very mild Afib that was controlled with Metoprolol in November.

I am overdue now according to my tracking since last Nov (every 4-10 weeks) and I finally got my date for ablation for end of Feb. I have had Afib since tracking one clock but now nothing?

I am now wondering if the cardio version worked as my heart rate before it was always in mid 50 range and now it’s nicely in 60-63 range. Plus no Afib when I am now almost over due (touch wood)…

So my question is does cardio version take a while to kick in- and could it have stopped the Afib?

Should I still do the ablation if I don’t have another one ? I know they sometimes treat with cardio version?

Dont rock the boat You have your date and just think how you would feel if you cancelled it and then went back to AF.

Time to fit in a private appointment with your favoured cardiologist before the ablation to have a frank discussion on all options and then make your own mind up as we all have 'gut feel' - follow that feeling.
