Just when you think you don't need an ablation.... Came off Bisoprolol on Friday for Ablation on Tuesday. I am now sat here heart going at 160 ish in mad AF. Obviously bisoprolol was working well.

Looking forward to going to Coventry hospital tomorrow and getting this sorted.

That's exactly what happened to me in April Lindabob! Went into AF the night before my ablation, seemed a timely reminder why I was having it done! So glad I did though as I have been AF free since (touching wood!). Good luck for tomorrow, I'm sure all will be well. Let us know how it goes.x

Good and bad at same time!!!

When I had my ablation I even had to take my Bisoprolol on the morning of the ablation but at 06:00 rather than 08:00.

You are lucky. I came off my drugs for my second ablation but my AF did not return. They couldnt even stimulate it and so they had to abort. Then I stayed off the drugs for a few more days, when of course my AF came back. Ggggrrrrrr.........

Probably good timing and a timely reminder of how horrible these episodes are. It helps to reinforce your decision so good luck tomorrow. 🍀

I hope all goes well I am booked for a 2nd ablation on Friday and feeling ok I was wondering if I really needed to have it. Just waiting for the AF to kick in again as not taking Flecanide now until after operation.

I had my ablation and went into afib getting prepped! They were excited( doctors and nurses). They said it would be easier to do. They had a pathway to follow already.

There is always the silver lining of having AF attacks of at least your problem is made visible ... I really disliked taking diltaziem (sp?) daily for heart rate so my cardio said I could come off it. So I did and I was fine... for six months. Now who knows if I would have gone back into AF anyway but at least now when I take those pretty blue capsules I feel like the tradeoffs (dizziness mostly but also some fluid retention -- fat little fingers and toes) are worth it. I hope all went well -- give us an update!
