Ha! Having said I had not had a recurrance of my fast AF since the first time in 207, I was visiting Norfolk to do some minor jobs between tenants on my daughter's house, when I started having a rapid fluctuating heartbeat whilst resting before going out to dinner!
Got to the restaurant and other half said no we go to A&E- 12 miles away. Got there and was seen almost straight away had ecg and BP taken, pulse was 150-160, BP very high, pain in chest and lightheaded, and sent to 'ambulatory majors' -they have a very good system, there are doctors who do the triage initially, so you get sent to various places dependent on your issue. Anyway, 4 1/2 hours after arriving, and blood tests and more ecg, I was given a bisolprolol fumerate 2.5 and monitored until the rate was normal. We left there just after 11pm. Everyone was fantastic! But couldn't venture any reason, my bloods were all ok, but I might have been a bit dehydrated. I shan't boast any more!
How very irritating for you. I was just congratulating myself on no sudden regular tachycardia since July 29th when poof in the middle of eating evening meal a couple of nights ago, there it was. Went very quickly, but just a reminder ..........
A mere reflection on your part, I do not think that you tempted fate. Sounds like you received a first class service from the NHS. Hopefully you stay in NSR for may years to come.Regards
Thank you! Yes, Norwich A&E was superb! I think most emergency places are very good, and they are skilled at 'normalising' a crisis to help you relax, but I was very impressed with the way they 'sorted' people out for priority. Many other Trusts could learn a thing or two from them!!
That's good to read as we have several bird-watching holidays each year in Norfolk and Suffolk and I always fear having problems as the hospital system there is felt by regulars not to be so wonderful! It seems the opposite is true.
Oh poor you…..yes I was the same a few months back….you know it instantly whrn it happens don’t you, there’s no mistaking it is there…..so disappointing isn’t it…..I’m having another ablation after Xmas….try again eh!
The Aromatose inhibitor I take (to prevent breast cancer recurrance-it stops me producing any oestrogen) has increased my BP and cholesterol. So, the cardiologist I saw added Felodopine 2.5mg to my 30mg Lisinopril. I started taking that this week, and I have been re reading the side effects of the Felodipine, and lo and behold-uncommon side effect, abnormally rapid heart rate and palpitations!!! I read it when I first got them and didn't think anything of it-but hey ho! A letter to the cardiologist now! Thanks for all the support, of you all!!
