I am having a lot of joint pain just now and been taking cocodamol. 30mg per day. Struggling with walking .I have now also just been double vaccinated so have 2 Sore arms . I don't want to take more co-codamol. Can I risk even one dose of ibuprofen. I do suffer from AF and take Edoxoban , bendohydrofluorine?BP medication and Sotalol.

Thank you.

How about taking paracetamol? I find that better for pain relief than anything else.

I sympathise with you and joint pain - such a debilitating misery. I wouldn't take any anti-inflammatory drugs as it has been well documented that not only do they enhance the effects of anti-coagulants but they can also cause AF.

For my own painful joint problems which are intermittent, I use Piroxicam gel very sparingly and only for a day or two. Also heated cushions and pads and ice packs to reduce swelling.

My husband has arthritis in 4 joints and gets steroid injections in a round-robin fashion when the pain killers stop having the needed effect.

Your GP or pharmicist could give advice and recommend the best help. I hope you can get some relief.

I too have been double vaccinated (Wednesday October 11th) yesterday I was extremely tired and my heart rate was high most of the day. 190+ but it would drop down to 60 then make its way back up. I went for a walk with my daughter and my walking average was 220 HR. This is the 1st time I have reacted to vaccines this way. Extremely sore all over too… I did find Tylenol arthritis helped a little and resting with a heating pad. Hope you are feeling better❤️

I take paracetamol 4 times a day for joint pain, not being able to tolerate any other pain relief. They don’t completely stop the pain, but certainly help.

Personally, I wouldn’t chance taking Ibroprofen with anticoagulants, also it can trigger AF.

Why not speak to a doctor or pharmacist, they are better placed than we are to advise.

As has been said, best to avoid Ibuprofen for the reasons mentioned by others. It might be worth having a chat with your pharmacist because what is not commonly known is that paracetamol is less efficient if only taken spasmodically, it works better if taken as prescribed over a longer period of time. Of course most people do not want to take more medication than is necessary and your pharmacist should be able to advise on what would be best for you……

I'd say avoid ibuprofen, especially if you are already taking the cocodamol .As others have said try paracetamol and extra fluids if it's only for the vaccine soreness.

Have you been diagnosed for the cause of your increased joint pain and trouble walking.

If you are still struggling with these things and daily joint pain despite using cocodamol it would be a good idea to get back to the GP and have a thorough examination and some tests on your inflammatory markers.

You may also benefit from some general blood and vitamin tests if you haven't had them in the last six months and x-rays or a referral to the Rheumatology Department.

If cocodamol isn't working for you the GP may have other inflammatory or nerve pain relief options for you to try which would suit you more.

Rest and take care , Bee

I was told by an A&E nurse that it’s to do with the way the body absorbs it.

You can use voltarol because it absorbs in a way that’s safe - although I would still recommend that you consult a pharmacist or GP just to get professional confirmation.

I empathise; I fainted 2 weeks ago and fell through a baby gate (taking it out the wall) and onto the stone kitchen floor. Needless to say, I hurt my knee and leg so I too have been taking 30mg cocodamol but weaning myself off now 🙂

Good luck, I hope you’re feeling better soon 🤞🏼

Best wishes

Well its up to you whether you take it but definitely not a good idea!

Is it arthritis you have ? If so I can strongly recommend Flexiceq Max. This can be bought at Boots and many other chemists as well as Amazon where I buy mine from.

Take care with cocodamol. It made me constipated when I was younger. I've not taken it for many years

You could always apply Ibuprofen Gel to the painful areas. Plus, I had a lot of joint pain - Achilles, calf etc and was traced to my Atorvastatin which I’m now off for a month re my GP to see if pains go totally away - then come back when I start on it again! Either way, I’d have a word with your GP to hopefully find a solution 👍

If we are on anti/coagulants we are told to avoid ibuprofen. I should ask your GP if you can take it even if it is only once

I take a tablespoonful of a good cider vinegar with the mother in a drop of water, followed by a tbspn of a good olive oil from a dark bottle. Try taking it two or three times a day to start. I just take the morning dose now and don’t need the meds.

Hi

I had it out 23 years ago!

Vinegar, like I say don't have because like I say too astringent.

Bile drips into your stomach continuously when you don't have a gall bladder.

Vegetable Oil is no good either.

You're right of course, we need to avoid fatty foods with no gallbladder but on the advice of a herbalist I use hempseed oil, an omega 3 which is not a saturated fat, and cider vinegar dissolves fat so it's a good idea to have a little with fatty meals. Such a shame it doesn't suit you, but I'm extremely grateful to be able to walk and no longer struggling with sticks and painkillers.

Hi

Grandpa had his gall bladder out and can still remember that he had hot water and lemon juice early morning to start the day.

When we arrived to see him at Oriental Parade we were greeted, and then presented with a lemon drink!

Guess what's for dinner.. NZ wild salmon on wild rice with a Bok Choy little cabbage. Oh and a organic small carrot. Fresh raspberries after.

Hi

Glad you enjoyed the game and All Blacks. Too rough for me. I had a 3 day election days issuing votes. Advance THURS, FRI, then BIG DAY SATURDAY. Very busy for one but we were two. One on Specials one person on Ordinary - me. In 2020 same 2 from Specials doing the lot.

When we said out goodbyes it was see you in 3 year's time.

Funny that the woman Manager's say thank you but the men Managers don't.

It will depend on Special Votes to see what happens.

I like the women playing though. Soccer is better I reckon.

You must have had a very very long day but another 3 years if Winston doesn't rock the boat!By soccer do you mean Football English style or NRL.

I like all the Rugby sports it was great when the Black Ferns won but the ABs are my favourite

You cannot take paracetamol with co codamol. There is paracetamol in co codamol. If you're not taking the co codamol twice or three times a day as prescribed you could then take paracetamol as well.

Please ask your pharmacist.

I specifically asked my cardiologist about ibuprofen usage while taking a DOAC. He said that since I have no history of any GI bleeding, and occasional dose or 2 of ibuprofen is OK-just don't go bonkers with it, as you shouldn't do anyway. Happy to hear that, as sometimes ibuprofen does the job whereas acetaminophen (Tylenol) will not.

Hi

Like me ifuprofen always did the trick even on 100mg.

I note from others that Drs say OK for a very short period.

It is your call.

Maybe talk to your Dr.

Codeine with paracetamol works for me but constipation is the side effects which I take Colofac with 1 big glass of water 1 hour before breakfast.

How about looking into taking Hyaluronic acid capsules. They make a HUGE difference for my wife and I. I've been taking for over 20 years now. Our Synovial joint fluid that lubricates our joints which our bodies produce drops substantially as we age. Taking these have made my morning wake ups with waiting for the pain to subside a thing of the past, Sure, I have occasional aches and pains, but nothing like before.

I have a history of arthritis in my family and was sure getting it 20 years ago. The other thing is that my eyesight has improved tremendously. I am an Computer technocian and have to see up close. You know the story... my arms were not long enough so I had to get progressive lenses in order to be able to read and work appropriately. Not any more! I can read the smallest prescription bottle or vitamin bottles text 6-8 inches from my face. Dstance vision is way better too. So I do not use my progressives a lot of the time since I can read and work close without glasses anymore. I would say it took 4-6 months b4 I noticed my eyesight improvement. One day I just looked at the table and said, I think I can read that newspaper without my glasses, and I could!

The primary ingredient for expensive women's skin creams is ... hyaluronic acid.

So, a three-for for women.

Add in two turmeric capsules a day too which should also help with your pain.

Overview. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the fluids in the eyes and joints. It acts as a cushion and lubricant in the joints and other tissues. Different forms of hyaluronic acid are used for cosmetic purposes.
