Vertigo
Hi Puggles
I used to get that, when I sprang out of bed mornings.
Getting out of bed very slowly and sitting on the edge of the bed for a few minutes before slowly standing can help. Just give it a try. I usually sit and take my first beta blocker.
If that doesn't work then it's off to see your doc as this has gone on long enough now.

Thanks ,iv tried it,but have to hold on to everythink wen i do start to walk, i take prochlorperazine to stop it,they work but take 2hrs an travel sickness tablets work as well, ringing the dr tomorrow, she said if i get worse to see them ,waiting 4 ENT appointm 10-12 months
Thanku
You don't mention doing any of the maneuvers like Epley. After a couple to a few days of maneuvers mine calms down. I Also started walking allot and when I do I shift my head back and forth which is also considered a vertigo exercise. I also started keeping my head more elevated when I sleep. My vertigo has calmed down since march.
Your condition sounds identical to mine. I am also on betahistine and have had it for 6 weeks. I was referred to an ENT specialist who then referred me for a vestibular assessment which I am still waiting for. I couldn't tolerate the Epley manoeuvre. I feel awful in the mmornings , the bedroom spins for quite a while but okay as the day progresses. Prochlorperazine just helps with the nausea not the condition. You have my sympathy, it certainly is debilitating.
Dont no wot will happen today ,but seeing the dr today after having this a week, last attack was may,but b4 that just wen i bent over or looked up, had vertigo in my 40s just once lasted 3weeks,now had this attack a week, iam 67 so been ok till last 18months then just bit of dizzyness wen moved head ,but not my whole body like now ,hope u keep well ,u have my sympathy
Hi, I am a retired vestibular physio. If you are in the UK, look up ACPIVR (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in vestibular rehabilitate) and see if you can find someone locally. We are well trained to diagnose and treat dizziness and vertigo. You will probably have to pay privately to be seen quickly.
In my experience out of the 2 prescription drug treatment for some alleviation of Merniers symptom’s Betahistamine is the better one. As with any ongoing illness everyone’s experiences are different but I’ve found on the day’s where the affects of Merniers are more aggressive the only way forward is to accept you’re limitations and stay laying down until the symptom’s subside. I have suffered the effect’s from Merniers for near enough 10 year’s and am aware as time moves forward the effects of Merniers increases- longer spells of inactivity- but have held back from taking the stronger strength Betahistamine knowing that next strength up will be my only option to lesson the daily affect’s as the condition escalates. Hope this help’s and good luck as Merniers can be very aggressive if you don’t understand or attempt to override the symptom’s to your own narrative.
