hi

my Apple Watch tells me my AF burden is 2% most weeks

Does it ever give 0% as a reading or is 2% the minimum you can get ?

mom not aware of being in AF at any time

Mine reads the same but I assumed it was because I have a pacemaker and I’m in AF 100% of the time.

Hi there. This is the minimum threshold for the watch. Mine reads the same and I have had zero af since April. Hope it helps 👍

2% or less is as low that the watch will report, it is effectively zero.

Here is a link to a previous post, hope this helps.

I’ve often wondered this about the Apple Watch and Af. I’d rather turn the Af history thing off. Shame you can’t enable both at the same time ?

I think many people have brief episodes and are unaware of them. Have you ever managed to record one of these episodes?

Hi Matt,

I’m the same. It’s only ever said 2% or less. I looked it up and there is no lower, as others have said. What I will add, is that this is only the time that Apple checks for afib- it doesn’t check all the time, but it sounds like you’re pretty much zero 😊

I don't have an Apple watch but consider buying one. What info relative to afib does it give you? Dos it record or are readings instantaneous only

Some Apple Watches have an ecg function which will tell you when you are in afib. It records your heart rate all the time so you can track it, useful especially when walking, exercising or eg sleeping. It also gives your resting heart rate. The afib history is useful in tracking episodes and a little bit of reassurance. It will never give 0% as it only checks for afib periodically. 2% is the lowest it will give you. I rely on my iwatch to keep a track of my sleep as well as this can affect my afib episodes. It also nags me to get up and walk or do more exercise as it tracks all movements and gives you challenges. 😂

I set mine to irregular heart beat rather than track AF. As was mentioned by Crumble2, I would rather have it monitor my heart rate during exercise etc. if you do go into AF it will alert you that you are having irregular beat. Most of us already know when we are in AF but as was mentioned, it tracks during sleep.

Not what you're looking for?
