Potassium and Bisoprolol

Does anyone know if Bisoprolol increases your potassium levels?

Prior to taking medication my potassium level was just outside low end of normal range.

I was advised to up my banana consumption. However, I have since discovered you need to watch your potassium intake whilst on Bisoprolol. I will be asking my GP. About this.

My potassium actually decreased. I am on bisoprolol but don’t think it was anything to do with that tablet

All the best

I don't think so. Potassium supplementation via tablets or too much low-sodium salt (not by bananas, which are completely safe...) is, I have read, potentially risky as the kidneys can't always deal with it and a risk of heart problems is present if blood levels become raised. I wouldn't myself take extra potassium except on medical advice.
