Hello - wondering if anyone has experienced this and if it could be related to the hot weather? The lowest my heart rate usually drops to is 60 for brief periods overnight, however, last night and a couple of nights ago it was at 40bpm for several hours. Heart has felt a bit weird during the heat - on the cusp of AF but hasn't gone into it. Any recommendations would be very welcome - don't want to panic but feels unusual and am off to Portugal on Friday. Thanks

Sudden and sustained low heart rate at night?
My cardio nurse suggested that I contact the team if my HR drops to 40. It is usually low 50s with bisoprolol. I think that most people would consider 40 bpm to be bradycardia.Having said that the HR does tens to drop over night. Also there is the possibility of a degree of dehydration and/or electrolytic imbalance. I would try drinking water with an electrolyte tablet.
Regards
mine was 43bpm this morning but a couple of hours later I went into afib. I kinda like it when it gets that way, I just feel so relaxed.
Low heart rate is more likely to precipitate into some types of arrhythmia.
Hi
My avg Night H/R is 47.
It is normal to fall whilst you sleep.
Keep hydrated with water.
Not to worry. But pauses are a worry re clos. I had pauses with metoprolol so changed.
