I was feeling good that Id reached 5 months post ablation with just A few ectopics which soon passed and although some periods of fatigue all seemed well with my confidence returning.
for the past few days however I have been having out of the blue spikes of heart rate going from 70ish to 169 and back again. I cant think of any reason but is this usual or cause for concern. the spike makes me feel unwell and I have to lie down and then it reverts back.
I am only on Apixoban.
I know so many have far worse than I am complaining of but outside of this lovely forum its difficult to talk about.
thank you!

I still get that reasonably frequently where just spikes out the blue then calm down after about 20-30 mins but I’ve put it down to stress being back at work. Will discuss it at my next appt in September.
Definitely talk to your Arrythmia Nurse. These might be tiny bouts of AF or tachycardia. Has anything changed in your life recently or new medication for other conditions?
Same. My EP told me the short AF spikes were normal even at 3-6 months post ablation. They are more a nuisance than frightening. Typ 4 seconds up and 4 back down. I recently discovered they got more frequent (10/hour or so) when I had too much sodium. Another thing to watch
~Thanks Down10FTN - glad I'm not alone. Had another night of a/fib last night - becoming a little more frequent and 2nd ablation risky due to scar tissue where hole in atrium from defect (ASD) being challenging.
EP suggest (April visit) that consideration be given to pace & ablate.........
Use tiny sprinkle of Himalayan salt as my sodium ~
I've been getting phases of high heart rate also since my ablation 9 months ago. Mostly very short lived, but have had one lasting longer. I realise I too need to talk to GP or afib nurse
Yes, nit pleasant at all! But I prefer these brief fast hr to my awful afib episodes pre ablation. I am scared tho it's a slippery slope back into afib which I really dread .
