Working in the yard today felt a slight shortness of breath, came in and pulled out the kardia pad...

Surprise, surprise..."possible atrial fibrillation"...I am familiar with the blanking period and hopefully this is an anomaly and NSR returns.

Just thought I would share my disappointment and ask if there are others that have experience such a short period of success.

Very common. Your heart is reminding you maybe too early in the healing period to be mowing the lawn. You only have one chance for your ablation to heal right, so take it slow and easy. I'm six weeks post my cryo and just starting to ramp up to that kind of activity.

You obviously didn't read our fact sheet on recovery. Sounds like you are doing far too much too soon. Take it easy, stay well hydrated and relax.

Doctors have seldom had ablation. We patients produced the fact sheet for just that reason.

We are not supposed to say "ignore the doc" but in this case, IGNORE THE DOC. They really don't have a clue here. I was told I could do full exercise in one week. Not sure what planet my ep is on :)

same tone and advice from mine, however spouse dearly says my activity is much more than others…paying the price of stupidity…time will tell, still optimistic…

You should be optimistic. Still in the blanking period. Just use it as a reminder that blanking isn't a free ride and you want to coddle your heart while it heals. Again, I'm almost at week 7 and still not at full activity. We all heal at our own rate. Here, listen to the body more than the doctor. Your body is in touch with you 24/7. Your doctor? I can never get him on phone or email, best I can do is a PA :)

It’s so easy to think that you can go back to doing what you could before the ablation as your head tells you one thing and your body says another. After my first ablation last November it took me three weeks before I felt comfortable driving again and doing my weekly shop, I am now day 7 of my second ablation and again my head is saying yes I can do all these things but my body is saying otherwise so rest it is. As everyone else has said the easier you are on your self and the more rest you have is better for your heart, people that have never had an ablation don’t understand what it does to your body and how tiring it makes you feel after so all these doctors and nurses that say yes you will be fine in a few days well in my eyes they just don’t get it . So take care and look after yourself.

Then bowls.Tried going back to hour long excer use classes at 7 weeks.too soon. Now at 4 months .I was almost back to full exercise routine. Then this hot weather.Landed up in A & E but didn't revert to AFib.Take it easy Hard I know
