Hi everyone. I am just wondering if anyone has had their pulmonary veins damaged after their ablation ? I have been told I have some damage to 2 of them . I have shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pressure , afib and lots of palpitations also lots of phlem and increased urination. I would just like to hear if anyone has this or went through this and how the process was and the outcome. I appreciate your time and have a great day everyone 😊

Narrowing Pulmonary Veins after Ablation...
Was this an RF ablation ? Pulmonary stenosis is as known risk of RF ablation but should heal after a while. Again in theory it can result from cryo ablation as well but since I always had RF I have not discussed this with my EP.
Hi Bob , it was an RF ablation. Now, I am just waiting to do some testing . Holtar monitor again and then an 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure test . Depending on the results my Mri that is 6 months away may be pushed up because I have a dilated aortic root at the sov and it is at 4.5cm and at 5cm it is critical is what I'm told . Then my electrophysioligist discussed going in and check the pressure in my pulmonary veins . Thanks for your reply Bob .
Sorry to hear this and hope they can improve things.
I think it is good that you have posted. My view is that an ablation with associated pre-procedures (TOE check I think it is known as) carries considerable risks and should only be a consideration when QOL is low or likely to be so.
Hi, I am suffering from pulmonary hypertension which has shown on my echoes since my first ablation. I always suspected it may of been caused by the ablation but never suggested by my EP, it didn’t at first seem to worry me but I am now suffering shortness of breath on a minimum of exercise. Was in the hospital in January with pneumonia which seemed to bring it to attention and have been referred to the Royal Brompton for follow up.
I hope you manage to get a good outcome.
