Bradycardia and low O2 level

I have a history of heart attack, TIA and AF and over the last year my resting pulse is in the low 40s. I’m expecting to have a pacemaker fitted in a few weeks. However my Apple Watch has for the past few weeks alerted me to low oxygen level of 84 percent coinciding with low resting pulse. Has anyone experienced these symptoms?

I think that very low if in fact it is correct and suggest that you speak to your doctor and have your machine checked against a known to be correct one.

Thanks Bob I couldn’t quite believe the results but I’ll check it out with GP

As Bob writes, you need to have that checked. Blood oxygen declines as a slope and reaches a point were it drops in a straight line. In an adult that point is about 92%. In 2014 my GP used a finger oximeter to measure my blood oxygen at 76%. He sent me straight to hospital where that night I was on 25 litres of oxygen a minute. That stopped me from becoming critical, and I was then on 70% warmed and humidified oxygen for at least 48 hours, before the oxygen percentage was reduced.

I forgot to add that "white finger" (Raynour's) will give a lower SpO2 figure. I have to use my left hand with a finger oximeter.

I would buy a second O2 pulse oximeter from Boots and compare the two.

yes after reading yours and John boys comment, I’m thinking that the Watch readings are not accurate as I’m not experiencing any symptoms

I’ve bought an oximeter and 02 levels are roughly the same as the Watch however my husband says that I’ve woken him up a few times with heavy snoring in the last few weeks. So I guess this must be the problem which I need to speak to my GP. Thanks for everybody’s input
