Not common unless there was a pre existing problem (ulcer) .

I have a condition called GAVE....gastric antral vascular ectasia. This is thought to be due to warfarin causing a very slow bleed in the stomach lining. It was discovered after endoscopy due to persistent low ferritin levels.

If necessary this will be treated with Argon Plasma Coagulation but fortunately treatment with daily iron tablet has kept things stable.

You may have to adjust/change your AC/thinner and/or have a GI workup. If you haven't already, whoever prescribed Warafin and a GI doctor should be informed. Hopefully nothing serious, but GI bleeds have to be investigated.

I agree with Jim. Many cancers are picked up early with anticoagulants as they bleed earlier than they would have done. So you may need a full colonoscopy. I'm on warfarin and I had a colonoscopy last summer and a number of polyps were removed.

Been taking warfarin for 13 years, no problems. I assume you're testing regularly to confirm you're in target range?
