Can ablation be done without EP study or it is standard procedure to always do both?

I never knowingly had an EP study for any of my ablations. I do know that EPs can induce AF using a drug infusion but for my atrial tachycardia ablation he told me he found four sites firing so must have done some mapping during the procedure.

It doesn't make sense to have to go inside the heart twice for the same job though does it now,

EP study is a great concept, especially to track down rogue arrythmia's, however my opinion is that a lot of ep's take short cuts and do little in the way of inducing arrthmia's. In -- PVI -- a couple of inducements -- out. Next patient.

A really good question to ask the ep, however. Exactly how much time and how much hunting do you plan to do, other than my PVI.

Hi

As long as you have had an ECHO and ECG which will show any defect in your heart, valves and chambers.

They said NO to me as I have an enlarged LV enlargement chamber.
