I don’t take Biso but another tablet which is not much larger and is scored so breaks easily or I use a pill cutter bought from the pharmacy.

If a pill is not scored it shouldn’t be cut anyways - guidance here.

the pharmacy cuts them up for me, so i can just take a teeny quarter of the pill ---. i just wonder if they have a big ole machine that cuts them, or what ---

I would think so - you could ask them.

When I took Bisoprolol my GP prescribed 1.25mg tablets. I still have some so I know they are available

See if your GP will.

I have a pill cutter, a little plastic affair with a sharp blade and a compartment for holding the cut tablets - £4.99 from a well-known online retailer. It cuts halves & quaters of 1.25mg Bisoprolol tablets a treat😊

the pharmacy does it for me, I just wonder how they do it because those quarter tablets are SO tiny.

I picture the pharmacy department standing around a handful of straws. Short straw does the pill cutting for the day. I also picture that pill cutting involving a microscope. I have a very vivid imagination with no idea how they actually do it - if you find out, please share it here because I'm curious too.

I have tablets prescribed & supplied as 1.25mg so no problems! Otherwise my 2.5mg is scored to easily halve in two .

An old friend sent me a pill splitter that she no longer used and my first attempt at using it did split the pill in half but while one half was ok, the rest of it was tiny pieces so I’ve never used it again!

I have a number of pills that need to be cut in half. I use a pill cutter but found some of them have a coating and the pill shatters into small pieces. I've learnt to just crack the coating with the cutter and then part them by hand. Seems to work well HTH

It's a 1.25 tablet, if I recall correctly. The active ingredient is bulked out with some sort of filler.☺️

I've had both 1.25mg and 2.5mg tablets, at different times. I can confirm that the 1.25mg, while smaller than the 2.5mg, is bigger than half the size. Also, different manufacturers (I accept whatever generic copy the pharmacy can get) have slightly different sizes for the 1.25mg. version. I also own a pill cutter (eBay) and can cut the 1.25mg size if I needed to.

I have always been told that 1.25mgs (which I take) is such a low dose that even trying to cut that in half would not help a problem at all.

Also if there isn’t a break line then it shouldn’t be broken. I would imagine it would crumble anyway

I take nebivolol. The 2.5 tablets have a split down the middle and can easily be broken in half with your fingers.

Hi

The 2.5 tab is a good shape with a line to half. No trouble just

bend in packet.

cheers JOY 74. (NZ)
