I have had Long Covid for 3 years and have 24 symptoms that could be Dysautonomia. I was diagnosed with Afib in January 22 after ending up in A&E and the Afib has been continuous since then. Two months prior to the diagnosis I had an Echocardiogram that showed no problems. Could this actually be Dysautonomia and not Afib or does Dysautonomia cause Afib? They keep giving me more and more tablets but my BP is really high - often in the region of 179/116 and then I will have about 4 days of it being in the region of 149/97. Just been diagnosed with Asthma and the blood pressure has rocketed no doubt due to difficulty breathing. Anyone else had anything similar? Not getting much sense from Cardiology - waited 3 years to see them but don't appear to be taking on board all my other symptoms.

Afib or Dysautonomia
Afib is afib as shown on an ekg. However, afib can be triggered by many things. So it could be Dysautonomia or something else. What are they doing to get you back into normal rhythm? You should be talking to an ep now, not a cardiologist.
Jim
There are a very few specialist cardiologists now who work with Dysautomnia- really hard to get to see one but they do exist. I cannot see where in the world you are? There are a few in UK, Canada and US but quite a few in Israel where most of the work is done.
I have AFib with Dysautomnia and Autoimmune. I have now got mostly on top of the symptoms - BP now rarely crashes, my HR no longer goes crazy high, no more syncope or pre-syncope and I now sleep well.
A diagnosis of AFib is pretty easy and indisputable and treatable but getting help with Dysautomnia is much, much harder.
I suggest you visit the STARS site - if you aren’t already familiar with it
heartrhythmalliance.org/sta...
And dysautonomiainternational.org/ - there used to be a good FB page also run by an Israel guy - don’t know if it still is around but worth a search there.
What are your symptoms and have you had a Diagnosis of Dysautomnia and if so how and when were you diagnosed? I have heard of a lot of people suffering after COVID. I believe most of my problems started way back after a really bad dose of flu in 1977, my husband recovered but I was never really right after that.
its all so confusing isn’t it? In my experience drs have been very lacking in help. Symptoms seem to come and go, get better get worse. We need to follow the best diet we can. There is a website covid19criticalcare.com/tre.... Check it out to see if anything there can help with your long Covid. That could also help your nervous system.
You need to take your heart problems (high blood pressure and Afib) seriously by bringing the blood pressure down to acceptable level and your heart rate into acceptable level during your afib episodes. I dont know about dysautonomia. And such high blood pressure could burst a vessel in your brain. Please change the GP if possible and see somebody in private and take care of your issues. Stop playing dr Google since it is harming your health.
Long Covid or not, dysautonomia or not, just treat the problems.
