well that will teach me to be organised, packed a bag yesterday for my trip to Sheffield for my convergent hybrid mini maze. Only to get a call this morning cancelling it again. Apparently they don’t have enough staff for a complex procedure, and at present can’t give me another date. It’s feels like they offer something on the nhs but actually have no intention of fulfilling this. Stealth privatisation of the nhs. Sorry to rant but after working on the shop floor of the nhs for 27 years I’m appalled by the state it’s in. Years of underfunding and poor senior management are certainly coming home to roost.
cancelled again: well that will teach... - Atrial Fibrillati...
cancelled again
So sorry for you, you must be so disappointed. Complete let down!
yes spent the day being upset, now starting to get angry. Neither of which will do any good. Just need to accept and wait with good grace. Cried when the waiting list lady rang me this morning and then felt awful cause she couldn’t apologise enough for upsetting me, but beyond her control too.
So very sorry for you after all the build up. Do hope this can be resolved quickly.
Oh no, I am so disappointed for you. Please don’t get too disheartened though, it will happen eventually. They have already promised you. I just hope they come back to you quickly with a new date and make sure it happens this time. What is it they say? Third time’s a charm. Hoping it’s your lucky charm xx
So sorry to hear that. You are entitled to rant. This really is a disgrace and just shows the mess that the NHS is in.
A lot of senior management in the NHS are a waste of space. Spend their days doing stats. Their salaries should be spent on the staff who matter to deliver the care.
Let’s hope it’s third time lucky for you. Keep your chin up.
So sorry to read this, I know we didn't work in NHS expecting more than others but now at my age ( nearly 79) it's downright scary. The disappointment must be overwhelming. x
I am so angry on your behalf! No words really. Just crossing fingers that something will come up to make it third time lucky.
Oh Im so sorry, you must be so disappointed.
I’m so sorry! How disappointing! But…..everything happens for a reason and you will see why it happened the way it is after you are through it. Right now you can’t see the forest for the trees. It will
End up better than you could ever imagine. Trust me, I’ve seen it before. 🙏❤️🙏🥰
Oh, that must be very frustrating and upsetting. I hope you get a new date soon.🤞
just awful, it’s like dangling a carrot and keeping taking it away! Really unfair on you, the patient. Totally agree re NHS, the current situation is sad and worrying x
My heart op was "moved" 3 times before I finally had it done, this was a year gone August. After my op the guy in the next bed was took down to theatre, only to return about half an hour later after it was cancelled .
Hopefully you will get sorted sooner rather than later.
I’m really sorry. It will happen!!!!
My doctor daughter and her friends in Sheffield and Leeds have all caught Covid at work this week and have to take 5 days off work , so I’m not surprised they have problems.
Best stay clear of that - and take care xx
I’m so sorry 😢❤️
When the headline popped o my email, I thought "please don't let this be chick chick" and sadly it is ☹️.
So frustrating. Keep chasing them and hopefully, you'll not have long to wait.🤞.
That is horrible for you. It seems it’s a problem everywhere. Shortages of drs and nurses.
🧁 comfort food, you entitled 💞
Really get your disappointment and frustration. Getting psychologically geared up to have a procedure to have it cancelled is a real blow. Are you able to be on standby in case a slot comes up unexpectedly? Hope it all works out for you x
I am so sorry to hear this, you must be so disappointed. I do hope that another slot comes up very soon.
too many chiefs and not enough Indians because of too many chiefs 🙄
Sorry to hear about your cancellation, it does seem silly to do pre op if they knew they were going to cancel although results are valid for about 8 weeks so hopefully you’ll hear before then. Often in the NHS and I’m sure other big organisations the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I’m sorry to hear about your Mother, the grass root hospices do a fantastic job, imagine the state of the NHS without them and their support.
