So I saw the Cardiologist EP on Friday for the first time. He was incredibly helpful and agreed I am getting a lot of ectopics PVC s I think. He said it is not AF as they are from a different part of the heart. They are however problematic as I’m getting so many of them. He has given me fleconaide 50mg as my pip. No beta blockers And advised magnesium and more exercise to help. However the extra beats were ‘off the scale’ yesterday nearly all day and I still find them really hard to live with. I did get to sleep in the end and feel more human this morning. NSR this morning and heart rate 70 this morning. I have seen on hear that you mainly take blockers along with the fleconaide - can anyone explain this? I am unable to take them as my BP is generally too low.

Too Many Beats
Morning...I used to take both and I think it's seen as a two pronged attack. The beta blockers slow the heart rate and the flecainide keep it in NSR. Like you I'm currently having a lot of extra beats/palpitations since a Pfizer booster two weeks ago, it's the lack of sleep that's the worst!Best of luck finding a resolution 🤗
Thank you for your reply. I’ve decided not to have another booster. I definitely feel things ‘escalated’ a little since the vaccines 🤣
Betablockers prevent flecanide provoking atrial flutter, but I think when used as a PIP its much less likely to be an issue xxx
That’s reassuring news! Nobody wants AF, so it’s great news that you don’t have to face up to all that. Did the Flecanide help, assuming you took it yesterday? I’m also assuming the EP has recommended a 24h Holter monitor so you can find out how frequent they are.
Hi, no I haven’t got the Fleconaide yet as he has sent the prescription to my GP - (long winded!) I will chase tomorrow to see if it is ready. And I had a 24 hour monitor 2 weeks ago and GP didn’t contact me or him with the results - he was going to chase that! I am also trying the magnesium as he suggested- I’ve only used it once - yesterday. So it’s a process but at least it is happening - a month ago I didn’t have a clue what was going on and was getting really concerned by it.
It’s very frustrating not to have your test results in time for your appointment, and also not to have the meds when you need them. But it’s also excellent news that you don’t have AF so at least there’s some comfort in that. I hope the Flecanide works for you. I know I’m like a different person when I don’t have all those ectopics popping and skipping all the while.
