I had my second ablation yesterday at St Thomas’ Hospital. It was a radio frequency ablation and they found that one of my previous pulmonary veins had reconnected and another area, not sure where, and ablated both, sounded very optimistic that they had got it. I was given an option of staying the night as I went to the Cath Lab at 12 and didn’t wake up in recovery until 4.30, we live 2 hour journey from the hospital. My dear husband drove up to London then drove around for an hour trying to find the entrance to the hospital parking, he then asked a stationary ambulance and they said follow us and led him for 15 minutes right to the car park, bless them. Husband said they didn’t use the blue light though!!
I am really beaten and bruised as used both sides groin and 3 lines in arm, one of which was arterial, they must also have pinched my upper lip with intubation as very swollen with a big blisters both sides. Despite that I felt wonderfully well cared for and I KNOW, time to REST, REST & REST!!
