As you know I've had an RF Ablation 25th May in London Bridge PVI and a Flutter Line - EP said he found lots of potentials during the waiting times (presume come up to temp)
Felt like a new man even directly after, peaceful nights, I was still on Amiodarone which I stopped 1 month post 25th June. Since stopping the drug I've gradually declined, in stages
Stage 1. Found I was going into A-Fib mowing the lawn and general light garden work, sat down and within a couple of minutes immediately self convert.
Stage 2. Going into A-Fib just doing the more every day things in life, cooking and a little cleaning around the house, again sit down and would self convert.
Stage 3. Started going into A-Fib just walking around the house, soon as I propped myself up on the bed, covert to NSR, this then started pinning me to the bed more to just keep out of A-Fib.
Stage 4. Guess I knew this was coming, when I stand up and taking a few steps, this would put me into A-Fib, jump on my bed, and self convert
Stage 5. Today, in A-Fib constantly now, been to A+E and got it on a 12 lead as all my Kardia's don't stack up to an official one in the hospital. Had bloods, said all was OK, CRP, Troponin, Thyroid and other bits and bobs, my bad cholesterol was 3.1 so I need to work on that.
So here I am, in near 100% A-Fib, A&E advised I stay on Blood Thinners Apixaban for now until I see my EP's. I have a video consult on the 11th Oct and will email my local EP again to advise on today's activity. A&E didn't want to start me on anything new drug wise. Just feeling quite rubbish after a 'taste' of lovely NSR and peaceful sleeps. I guess I need to give a toast for a swift 2nd Ablation and a swift med plan from my local E.P. to tide me over. Probably load me on Amiodarone again or a beta-blocker, who knows.
Anyone have the stages like I did? In particular being on your feet setting you off
Thanks

I had this after my first ablation which put me into the Acute Cardiac Unit because I was perfectly OK lying prone but as soon as I lifted my head from the pillow I went into very fast AF and blacked out if I tried to sit up. 3 days on IV saline drip and rest and I recovered. I did have 2nd ablation a few weeks later and no further AF following for about 3 years.
So if I understand you correctly you are going into AF when you stand? This could be vaso-vagal response. Do you have any other symptoms - light headed, feeling as though you may faint? If so it could be PoTS and/or low BP which triggers the AF - not a doctor of course but look at Dr Boon Lin’s videos on the AA Stars site - he’s the expert on all things Vagal with AF. I think he also did something on a the AF site?
Take a look at the STARS site about managing these conditions. Pay particular attention to hydration and electrolyte intake.

thanks for the reply, im fairly stable rate when in AF and don't feel light headed or faint, get loads of PVCs and PACs mixed in with episodes (who doesnt) enjoying a morning of NSR even standing and walking, probably won't last as I get a good day now and again, Im deffo vagal and left side phrenic nerve palsy doesn't help and because of this my heart is rotated. When doing an echo they have to to come from my right side sternum to see an image lol
one of the main reasons I couldn't have Cryo because there is more risk of Phrenic Nerve damage with Cryo so had RF, Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) looks promising though
re Amiodarone. I found that it helped me but I suffered hair loss, but made no connection. The problem was when I had an eye test and the opthalmist said that my deterioration in one eye could be related to the drug. He pointed that the drug contained heavy metals when the body cannot dispose of.
When I told my cardiologist, he took me off amiodarone immediately. That was about 2 years ago
Since then I still have an Afib episode initially every 4 weeks but now down to 2. So I am considering another ablation.
I take no drugs apart from rivaroxaban to thin the blood I eat very healthily and lost weight from 86 kilo down to 77 kg I am 178 cm so this weight is very good
