Message disappears half way through typing a reply

Hi! Has anyone else had the annoyance of a reply message disappearing to a blank screen at some point during the typing of it? This has happened maybe a dozen times this week on this website. I use Microsoft Edge with Editor turned on (I'm not sure that is relevant but I have noticed it failing to correct some misspellings).

It's very annoying and time wasting.

I,m having a similar problem with web pages loading properly but then >

Oops. Looks like that page can't be found!

I switched to another browser ( Firefox ) and its all normal.

It must be a site script error.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll give Firefox a go. I do like it but tend to use Edge these days. The glitch has just started happening this week.

It took me a while to realise that it wasn't me, too. I think it's a glitch between that will need resolving. I've taken to typing okay on this MacBook, so it's likely only the Microsoft Edge web browser. It's so frustrating to get to the end of a long reply for it to vanish!

No problems but then I use firefox.

That's what I always use as my second browser. It might have become my first but I kind of fell out with them as I lost the recovery password keys and, come hell or high water, they would not let me back into my original account with them, which I had had since the days of yore, so I've had to re-register using an old email address.

Steve, actually I have three email accounts for various activities, Yahoo, Gmail and Outlook. Rather than mess about going into each to check my emails I have put these accounts onto Mozilla Thunderbird and just a flick of a mouse and cursor I can jump between each. Gmail is my major account and that is the one I use for HU.

I use two accounts, Hotmail and Gmail, but because I’d registered Gmail as my FF recovery address, that was blocked from being used, too. I didn’t too long with them trying to get back in them gave up in frustration.

Whoever designed their system is a geek of the first order since using two factor authentication is easily sufficient.

Grr! 😉

you could type your message in Notepad and copy it to the reply box.

Thanks Griffin. I've been using MS Word but I'd forgotten about good old Notepad. That will be a better choice as it creates plain text.

There's definitely an issue with the App! Often cannot see the message when editing and weird repeat words show up driving me mad! This morning i wrote my post in another app in my phone and copied and pasted.

Yes - I get that, too. I’d put it down to the way Microsoft Edge checks the spelling, which keeps going back to the original mistyped word then eventually goes blank.

Belinda and I are getting the same problem of strings of letters appearing when we try to reply to a post. It is not happening elsewhere and not on the private messaging . I have found a way round this glitch but it is annoying. It seems to have appeared at the same time as a new message comes to anounce a successful post . Ha ha!
