Ok all done and fine and next appointment September 2023. That was easy. NOT!
8 hours travel for a ten minute appointment is the cost of being under one of the best consultants in London.
Never mind eh.

Great news.
so can you do handstands now! x
Thats good news then. How are you doing with it? Have you noticed a difference in how you feel( has it made things easier).? Are you aware of it there all of the time? Sorry for all of the questions, my date is fast approaching and im wobbling.
That's good to hear Bob. Are you feeling better with the pacemaker, or is it too soon to say?
Jean
Excellent news. Well worth the trip. Only the best will do.
👍
To answer the main question I feel nothing nor did I during test today. Since it is only a safety net set at 60bpm against my normal HR of 85 it is unlikely to change my life but it does mean that maybe I can increase my nebivolol without having pre- syncope. We shall see. At least I can now raise my arm.
Great news! Is it Biotronic or Medtronic and does it have the sensor-responder accelerator thingy?
Sounds good. Won't be long before we solve travel with "beam me up Scottie"
I hope you made a day of it on our glorious capital city! My wife, Wendy, was there last week with her sister and they had a brilliant day on the Thames at Greenwich and elsewhere.
Glad all is well!
Steve
great news, even though travel is a pain xx
Indeed! But sounds like its totally worth it. And the shorter appointment probably means all s well with BobD!
Great to hear. Do you feel better for having a pace maker?
after 2 years of phone appointments my consultant's assistant has decided that my paf is under control and no more appointments unless l have a problem 🙃. Not sure whether to be pleased or concerned. I'm sure your travel is worth it for peace of mind👌
You don't have to do the 8 hr trip. You can have your pacemaker checked in your nearest NHS hospital, they can then email the results to consultant who can reply if necessary. Thats what I do after having PC inserted privately at Brompton and live in Herefordshire. Bonus also means local checks under NHS can be more frequent and any hiccups/malfunctions can be dealt with locally
I love my new home monitor and I can call the team at BHI and they look at the data provided by my dual chamber PM and tell me how much AF I’ve had by period. 120 minutes AF first 3 months , 17 seconds AF second 3 months and that can be broken down by day / event.
I’ll still have the annual check but it’s good to know I can query should I have suspicions/ worries
Yes of couse I know that but this was my first six week checkup and until they send me my home monitor I intend to at least pretend to stay with them. Going "local" would save me about four hours per check up as local is a relative term.
By the way no events recorded despite lots of what feel like ectopic events.
didn't know a home monitor is given to someone with a PM - is it something new or always been provided? My friend has never mentioned he has one.
It's worth it
Great news 👍👍
wry happy to hear your news .
