I’ve just picked up sertraline from the pharmacy and the pharmacist asked if the doctors are aware that I’m on riveroxaban as well as there’s a potential for an interaction. Is anyone else on here taking both of these? Or can enlighten me at all?
thanks

I would contact the GP surgery for advice before taking the new medication. The concern is that the pharmacist has raised this question, they are Health Care Professionals and deal with medications on a daily basis, they have a great knowledge of most medications and are aware of any interactions or risks.
A search of the web bought up this info....Since rivaroxaban is metabolized by CYP3A4, the use of antidepressants that are inhibitors of this isoenzyme, such as fluoxetine, sertraline, paroxetine and fluvoxamine must be avoided.
