Hello! I was woken up around 4a last night by my heart rate. It had gone up into the 120s and then would go down to the 80s and turn right back around to the 120s over and over again every few seconds. My chest felt tight, I had shivers/shakes, and my stomach felt upset - this was all onset after the tachy started. This same thing happened to me a few years ago. Thankfully last night it only lasted about 30-45 minutes. Is this just inappropriate sinus tachycardia? It did not feel anything like my SVT. Anyone else have this same issue? Thanks for taking the time to read!

Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia?
Have you tested for sleep apnoea? Maybe start by using nasal strips to see if that helps.
I'm not medically trained so please consult GP. The cyclic rise and fall of heart rate would suggest Atrial fibulation and the fact you self revert after 45 minutes would be the paroxymal form .
I get this quite regularly, but not in bed, only during the daytime. The Kardia simply shows NSR or "wide QRS". The rate can be up to 130, but is often 85-105bpm. It's uncomfortable and can cause mild chest discomfort and slight breathless feelings. Often it's accompanied by multiple ectopic beats.

I have had those feelings too. Usually woke me up in the middle of the night and it is quite distracting. I would also get real hot and sweat and have to throw all the covers off unit it passed. It was eventually diagnosed as atrial tachycardia and SVT at other times. Wearing a monitor would answer some of those questions for you.
