Anyone using the Azumio heart rate app on their iphone or android device ?

Seems to be a good device especially when "on the go" and there is no access to Kardia or Apple Watch. Readings are parallel to my Omron home device.

I assume the readings you receive during the 15 second test period are different if you have AFib It gives one final reading but does not appear to be the average. I just have the basic app without the advance programs which I believe are subscription based.

Thoughts, opinions ?

I went to try it out on my iphone only to find that I had downloaded it in 2015 and used it for a few days! It seems to pick up the heart rate fairly well, but not sure what more it does unless you pay for the extras. Definitely good alternative to take your pulse at the wrist or neck, but don't know how useful it would be unless your're in normal rhythm.

Would not the heart rate be accurate even in AFib ? Or are you referring to the subscription extras like ekg ?

I really don't know how useful it would be in afib or with any irregular heart beat. Many of the blood pressure monitors, for example, aren't that accurate in those situations. Only way way to find out and that would be to test it against an ekg or wrist count when in afib. So maybe someone in fast afib can download the app and let us know. I'm certainly not going to stop my Flecainide to find out :)

I did just that. The app count was in the eighties, my Kardia recorded 118.

because I have thin arms and battle with upper arm cuffs, I use wrist BP monitors - I know they are inaccurate but they are very good for HR - I have 2 and they almost exactly read the same HR - not so good with arrhythmia - I often find mine showing an irregular HR (one will, the other won't) and if I take my pulse manually, it is steady. But I am symptomless , with AF, so I take these readings '.just in case'. I think the AF diagnosis has turned me into a hypochondriac - just as well Kardias are not available in this country and I have an unreasonable dislike of Apple products - I had an I phone and to get any service was impossible.

I've been using the FibriCheck on my Android and I like it. You get detailed clinically reviewed reports for free for a couple of days then you have to pay for these or just get a basic report that is not reviewed by a clinician. I'm just using the basic report and it is great for me. Shows Afib and / or irregular rhythms. I have used it to be able to determine my triggers which are definitely fatigue, stress and alcohol. I've also used it to determine the best dosage and timing for my Flecainide. Overall I think this app is really helping me manage my Afib. Just read this through before posting and it almost reads like a sponsored post / advert! It isn't, just my true experience

Isn’t Fibricheck the one the NHS recommend? I did try it once I think but the Kardia & iWatch are much more comprehensive so deleted it.

Not sure about NHS recommendation. I'm typing this having just been fitted with a holter, again, and showed it to the nurse whilst she was getting a holter reading and I was simultaneously get a Fibricheck reading. She was mildly impressed. It's probably not got all the bells and whistles that Kardia has but it is definitely good enough for my purposes.

When I went to emergency many years ago for my heart palpitations the doctor told me about the Azumio app. He said that they couldn't find the heart beat in a patient so they tried the app and found one. I got the app and finally the subscription. I find it works great and have printed out the heart rhythms whenever my heart beats weird and have shown it to my doctor. The graphs are sent to my phone and then I can send it forward. I pay for the app but you can get the free app but you don't get the extras. It just gives me the extra security I need. I have had many monitors, EKGs and echocardiograms and the doctors don't seem too concerned but this little app just lets me keep a track of it. I manage my heart palpitations

with the valsalva maneuver.

I didn't have good luck with Azumio app. iPhone 7 plus - I use two others as a sorta cross check. I use one called Heart Rate Monitor HR Pulse and it's fairly accurate. The other I use is Heart Rate Monitor - Pulse BPM. What I like about it is that when the AFIB is making the heart jump around, this one seems to come up with a reasonable heart rate and the waveform shown ids more informative.
