The heart rate app for iPhone users is great if you don't have any other way of checking your pulse. Its also incredibly accurate. It was spot on day after day for a week compared with the hospital ones.

Heart Rate App
What is the app called?
At the beginning of 2015 tried a number of the free ones including one by a heart charity. I found all of them to be inaccurate or didn't work at all some of the time. I then decided to buy the AliveCor (Kardia). It is quite possible that the reason they didn't work was because I am in persistent AF and circulation not as good as it should be at times.
I'm the same, I think they just give up trying to read it, I know my heartbeat is so erratic.
Hi Peter,
I'm not sure about the other heart rate apps but when I was in hospital for 7 days I used the heart rate free app for argus and it was identical to the hospital pulse monitor.i recently bought the Ihealth blood pressure and pulse monitor.which works with the iPhone and iPhone app that's very accurate 😀
Did not work for me
I find with the heart rate apps (and there are loads of them) they annalize your pulse rate but being in Af myself, it can read 63 on one reading then 100 on a next reading whether it's accurate, I don't know?
All I know is it was spot on compared with the hospital ones and I use it daily and compare with my dads hospital type monitor and it reads the same.hey I'm not saying it will work every time but it's a great option if you don't have a pulse monitor.i lay down when I check and take it about 5 times to get an average.
