Myocardial Perfusion Part 2

Today I returned to the Heart Institute for the 2nd part of my stress test. I was injected again with a radioactive material following which I had an hour to eat fatty food then return for a repeat of the scans I had last week. All went well and I was able to return home a couple of hours later.

I was aware of an increased heart rate having to stop my Bisoprolol for 48 hours before test 135bpm but now settled down again having taken a tablet as soon as the test finished. I shall be radioactive for 24 hours ( to avoid pregnant women and young children) then life returns to normal.

Hopefully INR results permitting I will have my 2nd ablation on the 21st July. I hope I will then get the results of this stress test too.

Take care everyone .

This test seems to be the gold standard of scans, and in my case picked up a small partial blockage that had eluded other tests. Well worth having if it is offered.

Thanks for your response. It is good to learn of your experience. I had considered opting out of this test having read some other posts but Im pleased I had it and that is there is anything amiss the scan should find it. I hope to get the report in a couple of weeks but I have my ablation to go through first.
