I have a friend going to London who needs a COVID test one day prior to boarding her plane to the US. She has not found anything reasonable in the area. Here is her request to me:
"We are staying at The Harrington, No. 1 Harrington Gardens, Kensington and Chelsea, London. Supposedly the nearest rail station is Gloucester Road Underground. We will need to do the tests and get the results on June 30. Flight to the U.S. in on July 1. I checked Heathrow and testing available but cost is ridiculous."
Any ideas? Thanks in advance! You folks have been a great help to me.

Depends upon the type of test required and whether or not it needs to be a supervised test or not so my suggestion would be to ring the airline or look at their webpage and/or a partner website eg: Most of the big US companies will partner with a UK company such as BA.
I would expect to pay around £30 for supervised PCR travel test. £8-9 for LFT - unsupervised. Would that be considered expensive?
Whatever she does tell her to ensure it’s a UK government approved supplier - check list
Today, the US just dropped it's Covid test requirement for airline visitors. I believe it goes into effect this Sunday. Not 100% sure if it's for all travelers or just returning US citizens. As with most US Covid regulations, confusion reigns, so do check with the airline.
Not to some of us in the US who don't want Covid LOL
But I guess the shift from epidemic to pandemic status has arrived, at least for now. And that means to some degree embracing Covid as opposed to fighting Covid. Not sure I'm thrilled about that but that's what's going on.
Was just about to reply the same ! If test needed we used DAM health last year , they were very helpful & easy to alter dates of travel plans changed etc
