Just a quickie but what happens to my AFib medication if I can’t keep anything down due to a sickness bug. Has anyone had this? 🤢🤢🤢🤢

SICKNESS BUG
Common problem but stay well hydrated and carry on as much normal as possible.
Thanks Bob but if my AFib kicks off do I take more flecainide on the assumption the original meds have passed through? Just a bit confused.
Sorry I can't advice on that but I definitely would not if it were me. Too easy to OD. Best ride out any event and start again when next due. The body will absorb some any time. If it continued for more than a couple of days I would ring dctor for advice. AF won't kill you. OD could.
If you vomited right after you took the flecainide and especially if you can see the pills in the vomit, then you probably did not get the full dose. If you vomited after an hour of taking the pill, it probably has been absorbed to some degree. Your doctor is best to advise you what course to take next as they know your history and safe Flec limits, which can vary person to person. If oral flec won't stay down and you're going into afib, they may want you in the A&E to convert you in another manner, or they may want you to ride it out if it's a short bug.

I agree with Bob. Keep well hydrated, as much as you can, and ride it out. I had Norovirus on a cruise ship a few years ago. It was horrendous. I started off thinking I would surely die which quickly progressed to wishing I would!😬I was/am on warfarin but it soon sorted itself out. AF did not feature , much to my surprise.
That's good news and also remember that Flec has a decent half life, so yesterday's flec may be working at least in part today.

I am really interested in your question as I threw up trying to take paracetamol 20 minutes after taking Apixaban. I didn't take another dose as I thought some would have been absorbed but my daughter gave me a 300mg aspirin which I know isn't effective but it made me feel a little more protected!
