Should I up my medication

Hi all, hope you are all well. My question is since my 2nd ablation I halved my meds so I went from 200 flecainide and 250 bisoprolol a day down to 100 flecainide to 1.25 bisoprolol but I keep getting HHR often and I’m due to go back to work soon so should I keep the bisoprolol at 250 but keep the flecainide at 100

If you haven't, I'd report this to your doctor right away? They would be the ones best to decide about your meds. That said, the more information you can give them the better. I assume these are afib episodes with an irregular heart beat but it could be other types of tachycardia. The only way to really tell is by ecg monitoring either by your doctor or with a home device like Kardia, which many of us here use.

Thank you, since my ablation back in January I don’t seem to have irregular heart beat much it’s all HHR , I don’t understand but it does seem to be like this since I’ve halved my meds. Does flecainide just control rhythm or does it slow rate down as well .

Flecanide is to control rhythm but one of the possible side effects is atrial flutter, which is a high regular heart rate. That is why I suggested an ecg so your doctor has more information. In any event, they should know what is going on and make the call on the medications.

Ok thank you.

Are you in Sinus Rhythm though? It's pretty normal to have high HR post Ablation. This is a question really for your arrhythmia nurse though.

Electric Flecainide keeps your heart in rhythm and the Bisoprolol controls the rate, also protecting you from atrial flutter which Flecainide can sometimes provoke. If your HR is high but regular that's not necessarily a bad sign but talk to your arrhythmia nurse about it, not just your GP.

Hi, yes it’s regular but fast , goes up anywhere between 126 to 148 , I take 1 extra bisoprolol or I might not take anything and after about 5 hours it goes on it’s own.

Talk to your arrythmia nurses or email your cardiologist unless you were told to alter the doses if you had problems 😉
