Received catheter ablations on April 6th. Unable to have bowel movement on 7th or 8th however on April 9th experienced several (7) episodes of watery diarrhea. Normal appetite, no fever, no stomach pain. (NOT taking the PPI medication which could cause same, so that isn’t contributing to symptom.)
This morning has started similar to yesterday and have experienced three (3) episodes.
Others experience the same and if so does it improve/worsen over time?
OTC treatment options?

I can't answer your question Amanda - sorry. However I assume by OTC you mean over the counter that be taken without a doctors perception. Be careful about doing this - is it worth talking to your pharmacist first ? Yes I think it is to play on the safe side.
This is not something I have ever heard of to be honest and is not mentioned at all in our fact sheet on recovery which will tell you all sorts of other things to expect. heartrhythmalliance.org/res...
I had the same problem after a few days, blamed at the time on PPI but looking back I think it was stopping the medication I had been taking (diltiazem 240 and Propafenone) cold turkey just before the ablation (EPs orders, unusual I know). That combo caused extreme constipation so I thought stopping suddenly may have had a rebound effect or it may have been the meds were covering up another condition. I would get advice before medicating - when I eventually ended up in hospital with the bowel problem I was put in isolation because the hospital thought I might have picked up a very nasty infectious bowel bug where I had the ablation 😬
I too think it's likely you picked up a bug. I've forgotten the name of it but there's one to look out for in hospitals. I know because when I was admitted for observation just over a month ago they took a lovely swab to check. I'll spare you the details!
Get a stool sample to your GP ASAP. Don't take no for an answer. And keep up your electrolytes - organic coconut water is good. Sometimes a little Complan doesn't go amiss either. Your pharmacy should have it.
Norovirus is going around at the moment and I think is the one you are thinking about as every winter you would hear of wards or even hospitals closed to new and out patients due to an outbreak. My son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons have all picked this up in the last couple of weeks.
