Try the comparision site medicaltravelcompared.co.uk to get an idea of what it is likely to cost but check that the suggested policies meet your needs.
We have used flexicover, all clear and staysure. Have just insured for a week with all clear. We both have a selection of issues. They are underwritten by Zurich who are very sound.
For reasonable I fake it you don't mean cheap. With Insurance like in most other walks of commerce you get what you pay for. I use Saga. It's only when you need to claim do you fi nd that you do get what you pay for. I've ways found them to be friendly, efficient. Peace of mind has a cost. Best wishes on your search.
I had problems getting insurance the mainstream ones like Saga and Staysure wouldn’t insure me but I looked at the BHF website list of insurers who were sympathetic and went through them. I came up with AllClear. Obviously haven’t used them for the last two years but previously used them a lot and most importantly when my husband was ill on a cruise they paid out with no fuss at all. In fact the cruise company dealt directly with them so no stress for me at all,
If you are (ex) civil servant, local government, military, police etc then Civil Service Insurance (CSIS) is best as nothing needs to be declared for travel in Europe. Worldwide means questions are asked but even then very good. Had to use them for accident in Spain and could not fault the service.
