I was told that I had AF, but also had 100 lbs of fluid around my heart and lungs. It is gone. But have had 9 ECGs and Dr never have found it again. Anybody had this

Were you given medication to get rid of the fluid around the lungs? I

Yes I was diagnosed by my doctor about3 months ago with fluid around the heart. She prescribed me furosemide tablets which make me pee more and The dreadful breathlessness which went with it has more or less disappeared, however I still get periods of breathlessness but think it may be due to panic attacks as I am very frightened of the breathless symptoms returning.

Wow...100 lbs of fluid doesn't seem plausible to me.... not that you didn't have some fluid around the heart....treating the symptom is not enough....important to get to cause and treat that! Get a couple of 2nd opinions....

If I gained 100lbs of anything, I wouldn't be able to get any of my clothes on. No doubt you gained weight with fluid, but 100lbs is a whole lot of weight and don't see how you could gain and lose that, unless you're quite large.
