I am taking Warfarin and Bisoprolol for AF. Recently I have been having tingling and mild numbness in my hands and feet - mostly at night. I went to Doctors yesterday, and he is doing blood tests for blood count and vitamin B12 deficiency. They can't book me in for that until a week Monday, which is a long wait until I finally get results. I am wondering if this could be side effects of medication. I am very anxious and worried, and was wondering if anyone has had this, or knows anyone who has. Grateful for any advice thanks.
Can anyone please help?: I am taking... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Can anyone please help?
I'm not an expert but from my own experience I think it unlikely to be warfarin but others may agree possibly bisoprolol. Never been on this drug myself so need other's experience.
Sounds like your GP is onto it. I have never heard of those drugs causing those symptoms and in my limited knowledge it is more likely to be a nutritional deficiency such as B12 deficiency.
If you are able to attend the clinic at short notice then it may be worth asking them to let you know if there is an appointment cancellation.
We can access test results online the same afternoon if bloods are taken in the morning or the day following if taken in the afternoon so we don’t have to wait that long for the results but each clinic has their own protocol.
Thank you. Its waiting that is stressful. I have a diet rich in vitamin B12 and always eat well so am thinking doom and gloom and something more serious. Wish I could be more positive but I have been a BIG worrier all my life and that never gets any better! Could do with someone cracking a joke! All the best to you and thanks for reply.
I’m no good at telling jokes, but if Beancounter was here, he could send you a pic of me wearing my pink frock......😂
Not quite what I was thinking of darling!
Oh well, at least I tried......hope you pick up soon, best wishes

I am on Bisaprolol & Apixaban, I get a hot burning sensation in my feet & legs when trying to sleep, I feel it could be the medication. Hope you get an answer to your problem.
Thank you for taking time to reply. I am hoping that it is the medication, or something straightforward. We have to take these medications, no matter what, but I don't think the body likes it. Everything is so worrying at times for all of us, and coming on here helps so much especially if someone has same complaint as you and explains everything. Wish you well on this journey. Thanks/
I am suffering numb toes and balls of feet during the day and burning stinging feet in the evening which is maddening in bed. Sometimes it rises to my lower legs. I think it's one of the drugs. I'm on Bisoprolol and Digoxin. It's listed as a side effect for Bisoprolol. I need to ask the GP if I can try something different.
Yes, this is a great site, so glad I found it, don't feel so alone.
My finger tips and toes felt numb and cold most of the time when I was on 10mg Bisoprolol. I asked to get it reduced to 7.5mg and was feeling much better.
It was reduced again to 5mg after a successful DCCV and I now have the odd occasion of cold fingers and toes.
Thanks for reply it helps. I have to have blood tests and if they are ok dr. said to see specialist. I am sure it is medication. Have never felt really well since AF was diagnosed. I was so healthy, and active. I am half the person I was, and everything worries me sick. Thank goodness we are not alone in this, and we have each other on here. Wishing you well.
It's easy to say 'don't worry ' however, make some time for your own 'headspace' and relax! I too was fit and played golf badminton table tennis and used free and fixed weights. I thought being in NSR at that point in time was a million miles away!! It can be a long journey - make sure you tap into this website. BobD flapjack jean Jeannie Cdreamer Wilson to name but a few offer sound advice. The rest is up to you. All the best.
Yes, I know, and I am grateful. There are other illnesses lot worse, but with this I think we all must get days when we feel utterly depressed, and perhaps lapse into self-pity somwhat, and then have to pick ourselves up and carry on. There have been times, without this forum, it would have been difficult for me to do that. Stay as sweet as you are and many thanks. See you around, and stay well.
