Just had phone consultation this morning decided I needed another ablation I was fine with that no problem I told him I did an abnormal ecg on my 6 lead Kardia device it said sinus rhythm wide QRS I had to email this to him, he then rang me back to say now not putting me on list for ablation. As this ecg showed my lower heart is conducting abnormally nothing to worry about - ok I get that but doing a 48hr monitor and wants my local hospital to send my pacemaker check on 1st March results to him so he can now see what’s been recorded the past year. If there’s signs of flutter/AF I think he will put me back on the list for ablation,
Why would this one off ecg change his mind about ablation just because this one off ecg showed something different I’ve never had it come up before.
I’m feeling a bit all over the place at the minute and now I just do not know what’s going on. Seriously I could cry my eyes out but that’s not going to help me:

Because of the wide QRS. He’ll need to have a 12 lead to really double check. That’s why I didn’t go for 2nd ablation.
Sounds like he’s on the ball so be thankful. You will need to be patient but these things are rarely straightforward so but to check everything - could have been a one off but the pacemaker check will reveal all.
I don’t really understand much about wide QRS so I expect like you say he needs this 48hr monitor and pacemaker readings to make sure it is flutter or AF returned it makes sense. I assume if it shows either he will still go ahead with 2nd ablation but I feel left high in the sky not really knowing now what is or not happening . I feel the emotional stress of it today and my HR is all over the place I’ve got to calm down else I’m not gonna be any good.
Do you have wide QRS then?
Thank you & lovely to hear from you again.
I do read posts occasionally I really need to be more active on here. Hope your keeping ok?
I’ve had some concerns at some times but QRS can indicate a number of things so it’s not a diagnosis, more an indicator of something that may need a diagnosis in order to know how to treat.
I’m reasonably well, thank you for asking. Hope that you get things sorted soon.
That makes more sense to me now thank you and I’m sure I will get sorted soon I suppose it was a bit of a shock really and wasn’t prepared for it. You’ve really helped to settle my mind thank you
Can I gently disagree with you on one point? Having a good cry can help lots though you don't look pretty afterwards.I speak from experience having been in hospital 11 times in these last 11 months with seven cardioversions and two ablations amongst those all either urgent or emergency!!
A good cry does me the power of good, i find though it's not very stoic. I think sometimes we add to out stresses by trying to be too brave. I always have to be one the jolly one joking with all the nurses for example when inside I feel like screaming!!
I'm not surprised you feel rough having all your plans changed like tha. I hope you get it all sorted out soon x
I definitely recommend a good cry! It releases so much tension. I prefer to cry in private and head to the bathroom if I feel it coming on. Hope you get some answers soon! xx Moy
Makes interesting reading actually most of which I do ie calcium and vit D I’m on those permanently for osteoporosis and extra vitamin d as I can’t retain it in my body I have a high protein and fruit way of eating as I’m on slimming world too I sleep in my back mainly because of pacemaker I can’t sleep on either side it used to really set off AF . So at least I know I’m doing all the right things to help!!
