I’ve always used flight socks AND done the recommended exercises during the flight if unable to walk around. The dangers of thrombosis in the legs could be serious and compression socks help to reduce blood pooling in the legs which could cause clots forming in the legs.
You need to protect yourself against DVT’s (Deep vein thrombosis) when sitting for long periods and we used to do this by taking small dose of asprin but of course you should NOT take Asprin, which is an anti platelet not an anticoagulant, if on Apixaban - unless advised by doctor.
Hope that helps.
PS - going anywhere nice?
Regardless of any anticoagulation these are a good idea if you are sitting for long periods.
