Has anyone traveled by plane 2-3 days after a atrial ablation? I flew to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, US for a second consult. I am concerned about the flight if I decide on a anlation. We fly from Little Rock to Charlotte then to Cleveland. Air time is about 4 hours not including connection times.

After Atrial Ablation and a flight home ?
I haven’t a clue what the medical advice is but I flew UK to southern Spain a week after ablation. I still felt tight in the chest, but just took it easy and I was fine.
I think the most important thing is to stay well hydrated and of course no alcohol.
I was advised not to fly for one month following ablation. But I live in the UK so maybe guidelines are different. Best wishes
Hi mates,
Should not be a problem, of course as Bob always says, we are all different. I did my ablation in April in Bangkok in the Bumrungrad Hospital. 2 nights in the Hospital and the 3rd day I was on my flight back. No problems at all. Was fully cleared by my EP.
Good luck, all the best and cheers

What medications did you take after the ablation and for how long? They want me on amiordarone, which is such a horrible drug for 3 months after ablation.
Oi good evening,
Taking just Pradaxa 2x morning and evening, 2 x 50mg labetalol betablocker and 2x80 mg Diovan for hypertension, thats it. No other anti-arrythmia or that sort of stuff.
And its getting better and better. Did some long distance flights and at least 1-2 short flights per month and all in the green.
Cheers

I flew to Barcelona 15 days after my 2nd ablation. No problems other than tiredness. I drank a lot of water and did not have alcohol.
