Just to let people know who kindly asked what my cardio advised after my reoccurrence of AF. “Don’t get too far ahead at this stage obviously disappointing but not unexpected, treating AF more about limiting occurence and intrusion rather than completely curing it. One option for you is to use flecanaide as a pill in the pocket when it starts this will often help restore rhythm but takes 1-6 hrs to work so if the episodes are reverting quickly not worth using. Dose is 100-200 mg all at once when it starts if you wish to try it if it recurs. Let me know if further issues”. Thanks for all replies 👍

Good answer from your cardio
Thanks for letting us know 🙂
Cool. I wonder why I had the impression that (immediately after the ablation) my runs of AF were stopped within ten minutes with a dose of Flec.? Maybe coincidence, which would explain that it stopped working a few weeks later.
Fingers crossed, I've had no problems since the end of September, and I hope that can continue.
So sorry to read that yours has happened again, but maybe a a one-off or perhaps it's going to be few and far between. Best wishes from me.
Thanks for the update...this was my experience with PiP...Very first episode resolved after 2 hours so we presumed it was the Flecainide. In my third year, I routinely converted within 15 - 50 minutes of taking Flecainide so I started to hold off (which was hard to do psychologically) for at least an hour and 9 times out of 10 they resolved on their own (and gave me the confidence to weather out the short storms, IF the rate was less than 130bpm or so). This waiting game actually became preferable to Flecainide as it would stop longer episodes but would always put me into a nasty bigeminal PVC pattern as I transitioned. At any rate, the ablation became the solution and I'm currently at 13 weeks post procedure. Good luck with the regimen.
