Bruising after ablation.

Hi everyone. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced bruising on the left side of their chest/under the arm after ablation? Had mine on Monday and noticed yesterday some unusual ,small circular marks that seem to resemble the internal ablation burn patterns I have seen pictures of. They are too organised to be random marks left by the multitude of electrodes I had stuck to me and almost appear if they have come from inside.. Am curious as to what they are. Many thanks.

Sorry never heard or seen of them in twenty years. They can't have come from inside for sure. Are you sure it is not where they cardioverted you at the end of the procedure?

Hi Bob. Thanks for responding. Hope you don’t mind but I have attached a photo as starting to think I might be imagining it!

I wonder if you had some sort of heart monitor on you during your ablation and the sticky pads they used to keep it on with have caused your problem? I have an allergy to sticky pads and they can leave red marks on my skin. BobD's suggestion is a good one too.

Thanks Jean. I can react to the adhesive in the electrodes too but these marks are very different. My report also doesn’t say I needed cardioversion either so I don’t think it was that. Not worried just a little intrigued!

What size and are they round? I'm also curious what they are now.

I wonder if you were strapped down to keep you still while they did the ablation and these marks are where the strap did up?

I had a GA so probably wasn’t strapped down. It may just have to remain a mystery!

It's an annoying mystery isn't it. I'd really like to know the cause now.

Me too! May have to wait and ask when I see someone in clinic although that isn’t supposed to be until July next year.

I see what you mean, cant think what on earth that could be. Are they sore? Perhaps someone else on here will recognise and comment.
