So a week on Sunday, heading into the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for my ablation for the PAF. Not too anxious bearing in mind I had the same procedure over three years ago to fix the flutter and then three weeks later, the catheter cardioversion to fix the fibrillation triggered by the original procedure. Fingers crossed that as both my cardiologist and the excellent Sanjay Gupta the best time to do this is before Fibrillation becomes permanent. Would love to stop the Flecainide and feel that my life is more back to normal, not constantly checking my pulse and being hyper sensitive. Stats appear to suggest chances are high in it doing the trick so fingers crossed. This time I plan to take more time off to recuperate as opposed to heading off to see Leo Sayer two days after the operation.

Hope all goes well and don't forget to read the recovery fact sheet and above all rest!
I am sure all our Members here will offer great advice and support, we do have some very informative resources on our website regarding the Ablation procedure (before and after) heartrhythmalliance.org/afa... I am sure, you may also benefit from registering for our 'HRC2021 A F Association Patients Day' available "on demand" to view the presentations covering all treatment options for AF. heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...
Best wishes for a successful outcome Slim.
I think it was probably Leo Sayer that kicked you into fibrillation rather than the ablation.
🤢. Hope it all goes well.

So all change for Sunday, sedation not GA and freezing not heating, oh the merry-go-round that is Afib 😂
That said very optimistic I can be positive about perhaps having a gap from the “will it / won’t it” regimen once its done. Thank god for BUPA who knows when / if it would have been done without it.
