After reading the percentage of people who suffer complications etc due to silent afib I want say I’m glad my body was able to tell me that it was miss behaving sometimes and I was made aware and recognised something wasn’t quite rite.? Even though our AFIB is a pain in the backside sometimes and we worry we must also think that we are lucky it’s been treated/ ablated/monitored and coagulated iff needed.?👍

Silent afib and why I’m glad I’m not silent.?
Totally agree. Pity the poor asymptomatic individual who is quite unaware until struck down by a major stroke.
That is the word I wanted to use Bob but I couldn’t get it to mind at all. asymptomatic. Thankyou mate.👍
Unfortunately that was me. Never felt ill but had a stroke when I was asleep due to AF.
I hope you’re ok now vrouse.👍
Thank you for asking. Minimal damage thankfully and happy to be on Apixaban and Bisoprolol.
Iv had 3 ablations and wanted to stay on anticoagulants just to be on safe side but my EP and cardiologist took me off them and said my chads score is nil.!😳 I didn’t know wether to be pleased or not.? And I’m still not sure to this day.!!!!
I went from paroxysmal to asymptomatic 21 years later. That was about six years ago. I take my coagulant of choice, Warfarin, and get on with life.
I keep seeing the Kardia ad on my TV telling me that Afib increases my risk of stroke fivefold. But what was my actual risk? I had silent AF for probably at least ten years but didn't have a stroke so I'm glad I didn't get loads of symptoms
