Hi. I need to buy a new finger oximeter as the one I have had for a long time is on its way out. Sold all my telescope gear so going to treat myself.
My one shows the dots going up & down in time with heart beat. You can also get oximeters with a wave form, ideally named as looks like waves on the sea. No idea if this is a gimmic or better to see heart beat rhythm. Not decided on brand yet but looking at a Beurer model.
If members think the waveform is not really worth it I will stick with the basic dot variety.
Thanks for any info & advice.

I have a waveform one and REALLY value that. The waveform shows me very clearly if I am NSR or ectopic or full on afib. For me the waveform is quite useful. I use my pulse oximeter in conjunction with a stethoscope determine what's happening with my heart rhythm.
I use a oximeter mainly for my oxygen levels, as I sometimes have breathing problems this is very helpful for me. I have permanent AF so HR is always a bit chaotic, but I use it when I feel that my HR is not behaving to check exactly what it is doing. I am on my second oximeter, the last one I bought is MomMed, it does have a wave pattern and various other functions, it seem very good, medium range price wise, bought on Amazon, had a good look through and chose that one.Cassie
Are they that expensive over there? They cost less than $10 in the US. I've never seen one with waves on it, but if Amazon has it, just buy both of them.
I have a wave oximeter. It alerted me to AFib. I check it daily. Gives me peace of mind. I take my BP daily, too. I got mine from Amazon and it wasn't expensive.
