Not sure anyone can predict as Amiodarone will take several weeks/months to clear your body. It is given prior & following cardio version/ablation to give you the best possible chance of maintaining NSR.

Good luck & hope it all works for you.

Are you on Warfarin?

Basically, the effects take a long time to wear off. You may not see the effects, but they are there under the surface. For the next two years or so you should warn/inform any medical person that you were once taking amiodarone and they should take this into account when prescribing.

Annie, I was on Amiodarone for six months due to Afib. Also, I was having severe painful PVCs. Once I stopped the Amiodarone the pain ceased but sinus rhythm with supraventricular ectopy remained. I was advised to start the deep breathing exercises and it really helped. Further info: I too am on Eliquis and Metoprolol. Further information for is I am a 78 YOM

I was on amiodarone for 6 months and am now one-month post-amiodarone. No discernable effects. Will have to see if my kidney function will improve now that it has been discontinued though.
