Can't really offer a sensible comment Andy. I take Bisoprolol and Warfarin. I do not take these NOAC's, like Apixiban but just wondering if you have some intolerance to Apixiban, or Digoxin or both when taken together. Maybe others will pick up on my comments.John
Yes - I have arthritis in all the joints of my hands - I take Apixaban but I had the arthritis way before I started Apixaban. Osteoarthritis often starts in the joints of the hand, especially if you have certain occupations - I was told I had ‘roofer’s hands’ - haha - terrified of heights! Mine I am pretty sure was from years of dinghy sailing. Worth getting an X-ray to confirm. Unfortunately nothing to do about it but suffer.
HiThanks for the reply’s
Suffer quite a lot with joint pains
Getting up in a morning for work is like a lottery, not knowing we’re it will be today
It seams to move around the body, asked the specialist he told me the tablets wouldn’t cause those symptoms / problems
Regards
I agree this not likely to be anything to do with the medication - just normal wear and tear.....
Hi Andy, I have been on Apixaban for quite a few years now and not experiencing any problems. I do have pain in my thumbs which is arthritis I'm sure. But then I suffered with painful finger joints when I was a typist. I would put my hands in the hot water for about 5mins and when the pain eased I kept my fingers moving. I find yoga helps with other painful joints. Try and keep moving gently if you can. Sorry you are suffering but if it wear and tear I'm not sure there is an awful lot you can do other than keep going. 🌻
Do any of you use creams or sprays to relieve the painsAlso what are your thoughts on copper bracelets, do any of you use them
Regards
I use arnica for the joint pain. And online there are some great exercises for keeping joints mobile. Specifically for hands and fingers. Mine is also osteoarthritis and it gets you in finger joints and knees. Try to keep moving and walking. I don’t think it is the tablets. As others say, wear and tear. 🤦♀️the good news is that it tends to come and go. Can’t pin down why yet.
I take digoxin and have not had any pain in joints. I do take cinnamon and turmeric tablets for anti inflammatory properties. Sound like the beginnings of arthritis..... but I’m sure you’ve heard that before.... try anti inflammation.... herbs as tea.... rather than add an extra medication
Thanks for the reply’sDiver2
Do you find that the tablets work
Do you take them all the time say one a day etc
Regards
I take 800 mcg of cinnamon twice a day and 2000 mg of turmeric twice a day. When I miss taking the twinge in an old injury at the base of my thumb reminds me that I haven’t taken them😂I also during turmeric ginger tea if my ankles start to swell. Also old injuries...... good luck. The Afib/ flutter problems affects us all differently and finding the right combination of solutions takes time. I usually take a supplement for a month or two before I decide if it’s working. And then I usually stop for a week to see if there’s any difference... tho some times it’s takes up to 6 weeks to notice a difference......
I also take 2500 mg of garlic twice a day which (also helps the heart beat more regularly.)
Diver2So have got it correct
1600mg cinnamon in total per day
4000mg turmeric per day and 5000mg of garlic per day
Are these safe to take along the usual Afib meds
Apoxiban etc
Regards
